Greetings fellow Ladies 😊
Hello dear ladies! 👋 It's been a while for me since the last time I was able to join a Ladies of Hive community contest. There were so interesting questions posed this last few weeks but I found myself without the space I need to write.
You see, dear lady, I now realize that my inspiration comes from a very quiet place. However, with the every day running chores and tasks it's kinda hard to find that inner peace. Mine is deeply related to - alone time which as also been difficult since the pandemic started because my partner works from home and we live in very bad soundproof apartment (neighboors included 😅).
Don't get me wrong, I love my partner and living with him as been a challenge but also so good. I'll take this opportunity to reflect a moment about love and relationships. 💜💛💚💙❤️
Imagine living with someone you can just be you in any way you feel like expressing. Being through silly dances, out of tune singing or playing an instrument. Without ever making fun of you or saying how to behave.
That's how I feel around him. With him I'm slowly dropping all the shame that keeps my inner self from expressing. And that is also deeply related to my new self discovered "talent" (note to self - I wouldn't say that much) of writing about feelings, vulnerability and introspection.
Dear lady, here's a photo as an example of what I'm talking about 👇
shared with his permission and knowledge
So this is the exact moment my boyfriend bursts into the kitchen, and finds me posing in a weird way to take a selfie for the LOH contest of last week (which I missed) in front of the fridge. In my pajamas 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I blush really easily, dear lady!
Just like that my little cheek dimples appeared on my smile 😍
I diverse dear lady, I tend to do a lot of that so I hope at least you are enjoying this free ride inside my mind (note to self - it's a messy place 😆).
Without further ado, today's post is my anwser to the Ladies of Hive community contest number 70. 👁🗨 You can see their post here 👁🗨
Today, I'll guide you to the most dreaded chore I must do every single week, all it's related sub tasks, and how it's all related to a single item. In the meantime, I will also attempt to satisfy Caroline's aka curiosity about my wardrobe from last week LOH contest 😉 You can take a ride to Caroline's wardrobe here.
Clothing 👚👘
That's it dear lady, I really abhor folding clothes 😑 Jinx and Loki (my 2 cats) usually accompany me in this dull task. Jinx only stares at me, paciently waiting for me to finish as you can see in the image above. Loki usually makes it harder and also funnier as I will demonstrate in a moment 😆 I also usually take advantage of that to listen to some music and recently I utilize this time to check out the new tunes of Three Tune Tuesday or #ttt 🤘
When I think of it, everything that as to do with clothes I usually procrastinate a lot! Being buying new clothes, folding, tidy up, pick up from the clothesline... you name it! So I usually get a big pile of clothes to tidy up and I don't feel happy about it 🙈.
Most of the pieces I have were donated by older family members or reutilized in some way. I think I don't buy clothes for real in 6 years or more (except leggings or t-shirts I need to work). But since I lost 10kg and a lot of belly volume last year most of my clothes no longer fit me very well. Thereby, dear lady, I'm now faced with the necessity to re-arrange all my wardrobe and plan what and where to buy new pieces 😩.
So far, I've already managed to separate a bag for donation (the bag on the right) and another one to sell in second hand (bag on the left).
Baby steps, right? 😆
How would I rank the sub tasks 🤧
I had an idea to rank all the tasks that includes clothes in order, starting with the one I most abhor doing to the least pesky to me.
1 - Folding clothes
Already said this one but I wanted to show the process as well 👇
That is Loki right there. He usually tries to stop me from folding and plays around with all the threads he can find 😅. Also, I have to fold all my clothes in a Marie Kondo style because I only have 4 drawers to arrange everything and a little bit of closet space.
Although this metod is a treat for my eyes, as I like everything tidy and organized, it's a high maintenence way to store your clothes. Definitely not the best way that works for me but it's the possible way for the time being. Every week I have to fold them in a very specific way, otherwise they won't fit.
I don't need to say that there are several weeks I skip this task or ocuppy myself with others that I really don't need to do. You see the avoidance typical behaviour here, dear lady?
2 - Buying clothes
I really don't like going to malls. People everywhere, big bags to carry and endless queues are not my thing. Shopping, specially clothes is really exhausting to me. And don't get me started on buying JEANS 😠 with me, they either don't pass on my legs/hips or they stay floating at the waist. But what can I say? I don't buy any in 6 or more years so maybe the new types of jeans have now evolve to fit different body types 😆
Dear lady, do you find the same difficulties as me when you try on jeans?
3 - Picking up clothes from the clothesline
I wish my cats did this, it would be a great help 😂😂. Actually Loki does that if I have clothes hanging inside the house despite not putting them in the correct basket... So on those rainy days, I have to do it several times if I'm distracted enough for him to sneak in the laundry room 🙈. (note to self - that little sneaky bastard...)
4 - Getting the clothes in the drawers
It's not that boring to do this after everything is folded. It's just usually I'm so bored by the time I get to this that I go procrastinate a little bit more. There were times they stayed folded in the laundry basket for over a week or until they were so messed again I had to fold all over again 🤷♀🤷♀.
You see again the avoindance here right, dear lady?
So here it goes, pictures of my 4 drawers with everything proudly in place (are you ready for a sneak peak on my wardrobe ? 😁)
My fluffy pajamas drawer 😍
T-shirts, leggings and work related clothes
(I still have to give a review to this one)
Jeans, skirts, shorts and oversized/old t-shirts to walk around home
Sweaters and winter clothes
5 - Hanging clothes
This one is ok for me. I kinda like the fresh and clean smell from the clothes right after the washing machine finishes its program even though I don't particurlaly like the task itself, I just don't mind doing it.
6 - Doing laudry
At last, this is the one sub task I actually even like doing. I like separating clothes by colours (note to self - OCD much?) and smelling the nice scent from the fabric softener. I use one that it's made out of recycled cooking oil. Yes, it's true! And it's amazing 😍
Final considerations 🙌
As I was writing this post, dear lady, I thought "This sound like a first world problem". I understand that many people in the world don't have this basic need fulfilled or even own clothing. The lack of equality we have in the world is evident and sadly well demonstrated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
With this being said I just want to say I'm greateful that I have clothes to stay warm and comfortable and even though I don't particulary like doing this tasks I'm still very thankful for the lucky I am.
This was my repply to Ladies of Hive community contest number 70. I invite to share her most dreaded chore 🤗 I'm very curious about it 🤭 Is it a domestic chore? Or maybe a burocratic or professional one? 🤔
