¡Hola a todos! El día de hoy dedico este artículo como entrada para el concurso #70 de Ladies of Hive. Así que, comencemos con ello.
Question Number 1: If you had to choose just one food to eat for the rest of your life, what food would that be and why?
Answer to Question Number 1: Without a doubt the meal I would eat for the rest of my life would be a nice medium rare steak, with rice and fries. I love home cooked food and this dish reminds me a lot of home, when my mom would cook this for me because she knew it was my favorite and she used to prepare it also for birthdays and other celebrations. It represents for me that warmth of home that I love so much. As much as they say fast food is better, I prefer to eat something prepared at home.
My husband made this dish for me with a lot of love. He knows I like my meat rare, some french fries and white rice. He didn't have the money to make me a salad but he usually accompanies it with my favorite salad which is tomato and onion. It is also the first salad I learned to make. I love it. I also usually make it and I really enjoy cooking for my family.
Pregunta Número 1: Si tuvieras que elegir un solo plato de comida por el resto de tu vida ¿Qué comida sería y por qué?
Respuesta a la pregunta Número 1: Sin duda alguna la comida que comería por el resto de mi vida sería un buen bistec termino medio, con arroz y papas fritas. Me encanta la comida casera y este platillo me recuerda mucho a mi casa, cuando mi mamá cocinaba para mí esto porque sabía que era mi favorito y solía prepararlo también para cumpleaños y otras celebraciones. Representa para mí ese calor de hogar que tanto me gusta. Por mucho que digan que la comida rápida es mejor, prefiero comer algo preparado en casa.
Mi esposo me hizo este platillo con mucho amor. Él sabe que me gusta la carne poco cocida, unas papitas fritas y arroz blanco. No tenía para hacerme ensalada pero usualmente lo acompaña con mi ensalada favorita que es tomate con cebolla. También es la primera ensalada que aprendí a prepara. Me encanta. También suelo hacerlo y me gusta mucho el hecho de cocinar para mí familia.
Question Number 2: What is the absolute most dreaded chore/task that you must do?
Answer to Question Number 2: I think I speak for many and for myself that the chore I find the most tiresome and tedious is doing the laundry. Here at home, my partner and I divide the household chores and I get to wash and clean the house, he gets to cook and do the dishes. This is subject to change but that's how we usually manage. However, doing the laundry is an odyssey for me. Here at home we have a washing machine but I have no way to connect the washing machine to the pipe and no way to dump the dirty water, so I have to go bucket by bucket, fill it with clean water until the washing machine is full and then do the same to remove the water. One with soap and water, then with clean water and fabric softener. I have to do that indefinitely until I'm done with all the batches of clothes. Then it's time to dry with the centrifuge, put it on the hooks and look to hang the clothes to dry.
It's annoying for me because of the fact that the washing machine can't be used properly so I have to work twice as hard. It's not just putting the clothes in the machine and having it do everything, it's the steps that are involved in what washing is. The good thing is that I have learned a few tricks to make the job easier, like starting with the easiest clothes and then the difficult ones, buying a clothesline (we didn't have one here and used to hang the clothes all over the house), washing no more than two batches and avoiding accumulating a lot of dirty clothes. I wash every weekend because even though I don't like to wash, I do like my clothes clean. Just like everyone else. There are things that are not to our liking but we have to do them.
Pregunta Número 2: ¿Cuál es la tarea qué más aborreces hacer?
Respuesta de la pregunta Número 2: Creo que hablo por muchos y por mi que la tarea qué me parece más pesada y tediosa es la de lavar la ropa. Acá en casa, mi pareja y yo nos dividimos las tareas del hogar y a mí me toca lavar y limpiar la casa, a él le toca cocinar y lavar los platos. Esto está sujeto a cambios pero normalmente así nos manejamos. Sin embargo lavar la ropa es para mí una odisea. Acá en casa tenemos una lavadora pero no tengo como conectar la lavadora a la tubería y tampoco para botar el agua sucia, así que me toca ir balde por balde, lleno de agua limpia hasta que esté llena la lavadora y luego hacer lo mismo para retirar el agua. Una con agua y jabón, luego con agua limpia y suavizante. Eso tengo que hacerlo indefinidamente hasta que haya terminado con todas las tandas de ropa. Luego, toca secar con la centrífuga, ponerla en los ganchos y buscar colgar la ropa para que se seque.
Es molesto para mí por el hecho de que la lavadora no puede usarse de manera adecuada así que me toca trabajar doble. No es simplemente meter la ropa en la máquina y que haga todo, son los pasos que están implícitos en lo que es lavar. Lo bueno es que he aprendido uno que otro truco para poder facilitar el trabajo como empezar con la ropa más fácil y luego la difícil, comprar un tendedero (acá no teníamos y antes colgabamos la ropa por toda la casa), lavar no más de dos tandas y evitar acumular mucha ropa sucia. Fijo se lava todos los fines de semana porque aunque no me guste lavar, si que me gusta mi ropa limpia. Cómo a todos. Hay cosas que no son de nuestro agrado pero hay que hacerlas.
