Hello there! It's me, Mae!
I hope you all are doing well. There’s no greater blessing in life than having a mother — someone who loves unconditionally, sacrifices endlessly, and holds the family together with grace and strength. Mothers are the quiet warriors behind every home, and having one to give honor is a gift beyond words. Today, we got to celebrate that beautiful blessing.
This Mother’s Day, our family kept things simple yet meaningful. The day began with something that’s become a cherished family tradition — attending Sunday mass together. My mom, my two sisters, and I all sat in our usual spot in church, offering our prayers and giving thanks, especially for the most important woman in our lives. It felt good to start the day with a sense of peace and gratitude.
After the mass, we headed just one block away to Nardy’s Pizza House. It’s a local favorite Filipino taste pizza, and it was no surprise to see the place buzzing with families. Who wanted to celebrate their moms with something delicious. We ordered two of their best pizzas and a serving of tempura shrimp as a treat.
While waiting, my little sister the energetic and playful one — kept herself entertained by striking silly poses and laughing out loud. She may be naughty at times, but she has a way of bringing life and laughter wherever we go.
We brought our food home, where my dad and younger brother were already waiting. They had their own surprise — a couple of fresh milkfish from the market. I decided to cook a simple milkfish steak dish to go with our rice, turning our dinner into a lovely mix of flavors and warmth.
Before we ate, we made sure to take some pictures of Mom with the food, especially with the pizza since she always says it's her favorite. It wasn’t an extravagant celebration. There were no fancy decorations or expensive gifts. But what made it special was that we were all together — sharing stories, laughter, and good food. Our home was filled with the kind of joy that money can't buy.
I looked at my mom during dinner and saw the happiness in her eyes. She didn’t need grand gestures or big surprises. Just seeing her family complete, gathered around one table, was more than enough. It reminded me that sometimes, the simplest things leave the most lasting impressions.
To the woman who held our world together with her strength, love, and quiet sacrifices — thank you, Mom. Your unwavering spirit inspires us every day. You are the heart of our home, the light in our lives, and the reason we know what unconditional love looks like.
Mother’s Day isn’t about how much we spend or how elaborate the celebration is. It’s about showing love, being present, and making memories that our mothers will carry in her hearts forever. And today, we did just that.
Hoping to see you all again! Bye bye! ❤️
