When I was little and in primary school, I used to read a lot. A whole lot of people, especially my family and friends, would sometimes say that it's cause I read too much and strain and overwork my eyes, that's why my eyes are bad. It's a joke, I know.
I continued with the habit until I got into university and, faced with the much load of school books to read, I didn't have time to read any other books. So, from reading maybe a book each week, it thinned downed to one book a month and to one book in three months. Right now, I don't remember the last time I held a good book in my hands. It's shameful, isn't it?
That was in the time when I was a book person. Don't get me wrong, I still love my books, and I try to indulge by reading ebooks cause I can't even afford to get hardcovers. The only issue is that I never make it through to finishing a book. And it's nut even cause I get distracted by notifications from my phone or laptop. I just don't finish cause I'm either too exhausted to, I get called away or something else I can't help.
But I have the time for movies. Why not take the two hours you'd use to see a movie to read a book, you might say. I'll tell you for free that it's not the same thing and it's not that easy. Two hours -as is the time I could spare - wouldn't get me through a 300-page book and give me all the details and entertainment without leaving me on edge, but for a movie, it will. You see that?
For entertainment, i rather see a movie these days. Meanwhile, i fibd that i may dose off between reading a book. But unless the movie is a bore, i gain satisfaction and have a swell time from watching one.
