Good day, amazing people of the Hive Blockchain. Welcome back to my blog. It is another edition in the #ladiesofhive community. I am so delighted to participate in this week's prompt topic. 1️⃣ October, also known as Pink Month, is here. We invite you to take advantage of these days and share your thoughts on menopause and breast cancer, remembering that as women we have an obligation to take the best possible care of ourselves.
We are in the month we call the pink month; it is a month mapped out for the awareness of breast cancer and menopause. One amazing thing about this awareness is that it is global; there are education and enlightening people who are ignorant of breast cancer and the importance of examining their breasts every month to be sure that they are free from breast cancer.
When you have breast cancer, the women are always victims of this deadly disease. That is why the month of October is to educate people. Believe me, thousands of women out there lose their lives to this deadly illness because they do not detect it on time. That is why October is for awareness and always to give hope to our ladies who are victims of this deadly illness.
If there is any sickness I am so afraid of, it is breast cancer. I lost my aunt early this year in the cold hand of this deadly disease called breast cancer. She never knew that she had breast cancer, but she was ignorant of it; probably she had no idea about it. She called me one day, complaining to me about the strong times she is noticing in her breast. I advised her to visit the hospital so that we will know what the problem is.
I know my aunt very well; she never takes things seriously. Even as I tell her to visit the doctor for us to be sure, I have to travel to her house so that I will force her to the hospital. The next day we went to see our family doctor; she ran many tests, and it happened that her cancer is in the final stage.
At this point I was so mad at my aunt because she had been seeing these signs, but she never spoke up; to her it was nothing. That is why she didn’t disturb us. I was in so much pain, but at this point all she needs is our support and love. I have to write to the company I was working with for them to relocate me to the state my aunt was in so that I will be able to create more memories with her.
My aunt was booked for a surgery, and it was successful. After some months, the other breast was affected. This period was indeed a trial moment for us; every member of the family was running up and down to raise the money for the second surgery. She told us that we should keep the money for her burial and that she would not go for another surgery. All she asked from us was for us to make her last day on earth memorable.
I am so happy that October is mapped out for women to create awareness on breast cancer. I get to understand that they don’t just educate women; they also help them to pay hospital bills for those who can’t afford it. There is a free check for women to check their status, all thanks to NGOs who have been trying to fight these deadly illnesses.
Conclusion: it is very important for us to always examine ourselves every month. For someone like me, I don’t joke with my health as a lady,. As you should maintain a healthy lifestyle and eat healthy.
