Seeing this prompt, I keep asking myself, 'Have I never experienced a perfect afternoon?' If an opportunity should come my way of making my afternoon a perfect one, I will be so happy and grateful. Most times at work, I always wish to go out and cool off, then come back and continue with work. One thing about life is it will not give us all that we want. Most times, for us to get the comfort we desire, we must sacrifice something. For someone like me who always works every day from Monday to Saturday, the only time I have for myself is only on Sunday, and that particular day is always busy for me because there are a lot of chores to do at home. For one to enjoy this perfect afternoon, I have to take a day off and probably beg my younger sister to do my chores on Sunday.
If I must be sincere, I have never had a perfect afternoon since I became an adult. This thing called adulthood comes with a lot of responsibility. I have to sit down for hours to make sure I put food on my table. My afternoon is all about work; even when I go for my one-hour break, my boss will be calling me as if, without me, the organisation will not function. Most times when I scroll through my phone and see how my friends are enjoying their afternoon, I just wish for us to switch places.
Having a perfect afternoon all to myself will not be a bad idea. Writing about this prompt, I am just imagining what my perfect afternoon is going to be like. One thing is sure: it will be an afternoon without stress. Nothing will disturb me that fateful day; I will zero my mind of all my worries. I am surely preparing that perfect afternoon with zero worries.
Thinking about a perfect afternoon, it will be on a beach with a few of my friends, enjoying the cool breeze and enjoying the nature with cool music playing in the background. There will be a lot of fun and catching up with my friends. I swear it has been a long time since I sat and chatted with my friend, which means there are a lot of stories to share. Of course, we will surely play my favourite game, which is volleyball at the waterbank. It will be an afternoon I will forever cherish and an unforgettable one.
I understand the fact there is no rest in this life. It is also necessary that we should give ourselves a good treat because the body is not firewood. Once in a while apply for a leave, even if it is a day, because life doesn't have duplicates.
