Thank you so much for the wonderful questions that somehow can take a look back at our younger years.
When I was a child, I frequently heard my father that no need to study or continue and pursue a college level because I am a girl and only I become a housewife someday. Sadly, my father's mindset way back in the 80 was closed to some opportunities in the future.
I grow up without the support of my family when I graduated from grade school. I decided to work so that I continue my study in high school, I worked at the same time and studied at night. But since in the Philippines college tuition was quite expensive that and if no one supports you with tuition fees unless you are a scholar then chances are we fail our desire to fulfill to finish our schooling and that's what happened to me. I failed to continue my study after finishing high school.
At the age of 20, I met my husband and decided to have our own family without thinking about the possibility of having a family we thought that it is easy but we were wrong because I got pregnant and my husband don't have a stable job to sustain our needs. I thought that my father was right when he told me that someday I am just only in the house taking care of a baby, cleaning the house, cooking, and so on. That no need to have a degree although I am proud of my father because he didn't let my mother work since he has a mindset that a woman should only be in the house and wait for him and be contented with whatever he provides.
2 years of living together with my husband and having a baby without a stable job were difficult and that is the reason why I worked despite my father not agreeing with my decision that I am the one working for my family instead of my husband.
Some will criticize me because I am the one who was responsible for my kids instead of my husband but for me, I will never mind if I am the one who provides as long as we don't hurt anyone else and I can proudly say that I am living proof that whatever a man can do its possible that a woman can do it too.
It's me a hardworking mother
That's all for my entry and I would like to invite for I know you have an unforgettable experience in your childhood days.
Thank you ladies of hive!
