Christmas! What a joyous time to celebrate love, life, forgiveness, renewal, and togetherness. Of course, although only optional, presents are one of the things that will make us happy this season or any time of the year. For the past years, I have always wished to receive books and I did! I still want to be gifted more books. The thought of smelling the pages and discovering another world warms my heart. If I could choose my own gift this Christmas, I’m tempted to pick the abstracts like happiness, peace, or clarity, but I will not. I would be insincere that way. Thus, let me answer the second question for this week’s prompt with all honesty and sincerity. When I imagine myself opening a ribboned box, I wish to discover an iPhone (any of the latest models). Yes! An iPhone, but not for the wrong reasons, so hear me out.
Since I am still waiting for an appointment in the public school, I want to use as many resources as I could to make money, and I think an iPhone will increase my chances. It can help me monetize my videos and blogs better, and it would be a fresh change. In other words, I want one as a money-making tool or an investment.
First, using an iPhone will enable me to shoot videos with better quality. I have been on the TikTok Affiliate Program for six months, shooting content featuring various products and earning commissions. As a content consumer myself, I agree that video quality is one of the factors in judging and attending to a video. Most of the well-performing affiliate videos I have seen are shot using iPhones. Better quality may lead to longer viewer retention which will also improve my algorithm and ultimately achieve higher sales. Commissions on the way! Yay!
Second, the iOS camera will help me take better photos of places I’ll visit, food I’ll eat, and things I’ll make. I’ll use these photos for my blogs. Honestly, I wanted to feature places, but the bubble just pops when I remember my mobile camera cannot fully translate the beauty of the scenery. Imagine going to a place where the colors of the sun and sky are rich and the trees look so alive and breathing in their green hue, and when you take a photo of it the colors become bland like souls leaving a body in the cold. That’s how I feel with my phone’s camera. With an iPhone, I could show my readers the aesthetics of something almost like they are experiencing it themselves. This might help me gain more upvotes. How I love and appreciate upvotes!
Lastly, switching from Android to iOS would be a new, different, and exciting experience for me. I have been an android user for all my life. However, buying an iPhone is not a priority, so I'll stick with my still functioning Android phone, hoping it does not break because I can’t afford a new one for now.
Owning an iPhone is a dream for me, but there are financial constraints, so I have to grind more and wait until I am able to have my own without sacrificing my needs and priorities. For now, I think I and my Android will be together a little longer in shooting videos and taking photos. I am still happy that it has been a helpful tool in monetizing my content. Therefore, I’ll continue using this one until I can finally go to an Apple store and come out with an iPhone or until somebody decides to give me one. Just kidding!
Presents or no presents, iPhone or no iPhone, my heart still swells with gratefulness. There’s already so much I received: my life, my family, my Ding, the people I newly met on Hive, the feeling of satisfaction every time I finish a blog, and more. For everything, I thank God, the giver of gifts, the source of all that is good.
