This art is in response to 's Christmas Ornaments Contest, which you can find HERE!
This ball is gift-wrapped for , fellow fractal artist who gave me one of the greatest gifts one Hiver can give to the other: an opportunity to collaborate around some fabulous art that she made! Meet Her Highness, Princess Bazelle!
And, read here the massive saga we did over at Alien Art Hive as one collection -- more fabulous art by , with writing and a bit of supplemental art by me!
It is a big deal in the world we live in when an artist trusts you with some of her most precious works ... thanks, , and here's your Christmas gift, in advance!
Okay, so how was this thing made? As ever, I started with the ball form gave us, which you can also find on the contest post linked above...
But this time, unlike the Christmas Star Ball, I could not get the fractal to wrap in Apophysis 2.09 into a sphere -- I had the colors I wanted, but it just wouldn't go. As I have said before, that kind of wrap is rare. But, along the way, I ended up with this form ...
It wasn't a whole sphere, and it wasn't even perfectly round, but then I said, "There's a BOW in the middle," and then recognized what this really was: fractal golden ribbons, just needing the right color ball to wrap it around ... so, with concentration, voila! -- the Golden Ribbon Ball!
P.S. If anyone is into Krampus, his face is hidden somewhere in the fractal, not to bother , of course, but bad Hivers beware for he is on guard ... that was a surprise I didn't realize until at the very end! Fractals do generate faces from time to time!
