Hello Everyone. You are welcome to my blog. This is my entry for this week's ladiesofhive contest topic by
Women go through a lot and still do daily activities like nothing happened, even when we ain't strong, we still try to maintain a smile. I haven't experienced pregnancy but from discussions I have had with friends, I know having another life growing inside a woman's body is not an easy task, with the changes it does to the body and even risking one's life. We are much stronger than we actually look 😊
Back then in Secondary school I hated the idea of going to school when am menstruating, I feel so uncomfortable, maybe because I was still young or just confused and had many questions of why I need to go through all those pains as a woman, the embarrassment of getting stained in a mixed school, seeing boys staring at you in a strange way, we were not so free to discuss and shy away from conversation involving menstruation, most of us used tissue and didn't have much access to sanitary pads, we had little knowledge on how to dispose it so we just avoid pads, having to run to the toilet to change constantly.
These are more reasons why my menstrual flow comes like a disturbance, gradually I began to appreciate it as my own uniqueness and embrace it as part of womanhood, my mum do tell me then anytime she sees am frustrated about the idea that it's bad when one doesn't see the flow monthly.
The series of sleepless nights, headaches and loss of appetite, this makes me get angry unnecessarily and just want my space, the heavyflow makes me lose interest in going out and the fear of getting stained as people feel you don't know how to take care of yourself, thanks to few closer to me who knows on a normal day I wouldn't react harshly to things. After everything I bounce back to my normal self.
Thanks for checking on my blog, do have a lovely weekend
