Technology since its invention has been a true game changer for all. A lady in my place of work got an offer to teach some pupils abroad sometime last year, perior to this time she had never used zoom or Google meet for anything.
She almost gave up on the offer because she thought it was a big deal. I had to link her up with another friend who does the same online classes for pupils abroad and she explained a bit and referred her to YouTube videos she can watch to improve herself. She is now a professional.
Technology usually opens doors to new opportunities that were not previously offered in so many ways like creation of remote jobs. While growing up, what we knew was that our parents go to work in the morning and return back home in the evening
And for some they come once or twice in a month if they work in different states or sometimes once a year or in two years if they work abroad. With technology, people can stay home from morning till night and still work. It's called a remote job because one can work from anywhere.
Technology has provided a lot of people with different certificates from different institutions all over the world without leaving the shore of their country through online education. I for example have more than five certificates from Allison, two from Courssera and another two from Florence yet my international passport does not have any country's visa stamp.
In business, technology has promoted a lot of people from ship dropper to shop or store owner. With technology, you can advertise a product you do not have in stock on your social media. All you have to do when an end user requests it is to buy from the source where the image came from, deliver it to your customer and bag your profit. I did this a lot when I was into the sales of organic cream a few years ago.
Another advantage of technology is networking. Technology helps you to meet different people from different walks of life all over the world who one can learn from and who can also learn from us as learning stars from birth and end at death. Presently, I can count a number of people I can call mentors whom I meet through technology. Few of them are Mrs Caroline Popoola of Alpha Global, Fii Stephen of Teach tech, Tope Adenuga of shey you get.
Also, technology makes information accessible. When we were much younger, if we needed an answer to a question we had to check from all the available textbooks. Nowadays, answers to any questions we may have are readily available and just a few seconds away provided we have an internet enabled device, all we need is just a strong asking prompt.
I usually apply all the skills I learnt from all the online courses I took into my daily life and I can tell you for free that my productivity has really improved. Presently, I am seeking more technology advancement by learning from the Canva application for designs and the capcut application for video editing.
