Greetings to everyone in this community, and happy new month once again!
This week’s contest about life accomplishments really touched me, and I want to use this opportunity to encourage young women to reflect on their own achievements no matter how small they may seem.
Looking back at my own journey, I remember a time when I had no skills, no job, and no support system. At that point, only my husband was providing for the family. I entered into a relationship quite early, and though it came with challenges, it also taught me valuable lessons about life.
I started looking for a job during my first pregnancy. Many people looked at me with surprise, wondering why such a young girl was going through all that. But I knew it was time to take action to connect with opportunities and professionals who could help me earn an income. If you dont realize yourself you wont be agile for a change.
My husband had a lot of financial responsibilities, and I couldn’t just sit back. I had to step out and look for ways to support our home. I actually wrote a blog post about that experience it wasn’t easy at all. Read Here
But I see it now as a life lesson that taught me the importance of doing things at the right time, especially when you have a family to care for.
Back then, I had no digital skills and never imagined people could make money just by using their phones. I believed phones were only for calls, chatting, and entertainment. But I’ve since learned so much more.
Despite all the struggles, when I look at myself now, I see how much I’ve grown.
I’ve learned the importance of connecting with people. There’s a popular saying: the people you associate with can either make or break you. That’s very true. As a young mom, I became eager to learn something valuable. I developed a strong interest in graphic design, and I started with the simplest tool I could find — Canva. What made it easy for me were the ready-made templates that I could edit and use to create something beautiful, even as a beginner.
In my church, we used to outsource our banner designs and printing to outsiders. But one day, I told them, “I can do this!” And to everyone’s surprise, I did it. In fact, most of the cover photos I use for my posts today were designed by me, and I always proudly state that.
Looking at me now, I’m no longer the same person I used to be. I remember when I was completely broke. But today, I can sit in the comfort of my home and earn a decent income using just my phone.
I’ve also improved my writing skills, and one of the biggest things that helped me was Hive. After reading how others structure their posts, I began to learn and grow in my own writing.
All the knowledge I’ve gained has taught me something important:
Opportunities don’t always come to you , sometimes, you have to go out and meet them. And when you meet the right people, opportunities will follow.
So, I want to encourage every lady reading this: Don’t look down on yourself just because you haven’t reached where you want to be yet. What matters is that you have a vision and that you’re working towards it. You’ll get there.
Thank you for reading. I hope this inspires you, and I wish you a beautiful day ahead.
