HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE ?
I was born in September 1954. At that time there was no color tv, no cable, no computers, and certainly no cell phones OR #crypto. I have lived through an awful lot.
I met my future husband in 1969, at the tender age of 15 but being brought up in a very strict Catholic family, we abided by the rules. There was no dating allowed until I reached 16 and then I had to double date with my older brother. Who does that now?
In 1972 when I graduated from high school, I went on to college, I finally was able to step out of the box and meet new people, people other than white Catholics. I met people of color, others that weren't born in the USA, individuals that spoke of freedom for woman. Holy crap, that was exhilarating.
I went to a rally on campus where I watched young ladies strip off their bras and burn them, I was blown away. I listen to women talk about equality for all, but the focus was on females. My eyes were opened to a whole new world.
I agreed with this philosophy, most girls I knew in high school were smarter than our male counterparts, much more aware of the world around us, but through our upbring, we kept our mouths shut, we wanted the boys to like us.
But once I moved on to college, I started to listen to news broadcasts, read articles and exchange ideas with other students about a women's movement called "Women's Liberation" and it was discussed all over campus. Our hero was Gloria Steinem. She was a political activist, a feminist and journalist that brought attention to the movement in a big way.
Here's just a few of her quotes:
“A feminist is anyone who recognizes the equality and full humanity of women and men.”
"I have yet to hear a man ask for advice on how to combine marriage and a career."
“Without leaps of imagination or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. …
“Women may be the one group that grows more radical with age.” ― Gloria Steinem.

Feminism is a range of socio-political movements and ideologies that aim to define and establish the political, economic, personal, and social equality of the sexes. Feminism incorporates the position that society prioritizes the male point of view and that women are treated unjustly in these societies. Efforts to change this include fighting against gender stereotypes and establishing educational, professional, and interpersonal opportunities and outcomes for women that are equal to those for men.

Listening to Ms. Steinem and others like her changed my life. I was no longer the quiet one, I learned to express myself in ways I never thought possible, I even challenged my dad as I grew older, although with utmost respect. My mom was open to hear what I had to say about "having it all", a family and a career.
I grew up in the 70's, really grew up. We have rights ladies don't ever forget that, without women, the world would cease to exist. Know your worth and never let anyone silence you.
We have a right to be here, no less than the trees and the stars. Our worth needs to be recognized and appreciated.
I just wish the Supreme Court in the USA understood that, they have decided for us how to take care of our own bodies making females second class citizens once again, setting us back...
