Holidays are so underrated but it's my favourite time of the year.
By holidays, I mean Christmas. Christmas is that time of the where most people find a way to come back home. By home, I mean their various communities. This practice is majorly done by people from the east.
So after the hustle and bustle all year, people travel back home to spend time with their extended family.
For anyone coming here for vacation, Christmas is usually the best time.
My country is a home of Cultural Giants, who come out in full force during the holidays. It's the time where everyone tries to out do the others in cooking variety of delicious homemade dishes.
In Calabar, the Christmas celebrations usually start from the beginning of December till the new year.

The Calabar carnival , which is popularly called Africa's biggest street party, is one of the biggest carnival after Brazil carnival, and it usually takes place on the 31st of December. During the carnival, several cultural dances, attires and dishes are displayed.

There's the Tinapa Park, where people sell all varieties of food, ranging from Afang Soup, Edika Ikong, Melon Soup, White Soup, Ekpang Nkukwo.
The list is endless. There's also the obudu cattle ranch and its beautiful ambience.
The climate there is heavenly. Cold in a soothing way.
You could horseback riding, hiking or just stay indoors enjoying the view.
If this scenario isn't your style, I'd recommend going to Lagos.
The most fun happens there. From end of the year parties to house warming parties to Christmas weddings and even church bazaar and harvest.
It is never a dull moment in my country during Christmas.
Staying for just three days here would not be enough to fully experience the Christmas celebrations.
If you are here for just the food, Christmas is the best time for that.
