The kind of world in which we live in, doing things out of guilt or fear is one thing that is constant in our lives because we don't want to disappoint some setting kinds of people. These kinds of activities that we do out of Fear or guilt turns out to be one that pressures us to please people. However the situation of things where we do certain activities by our consciousness brings about a different turn of event such as peace and mental stability.
In other words, as human beings we need to take time out of our schedule to balance our work and life activities thereby separating was we do out of Fear or guilt from the activities we carry out while we are conscious. These choices can help us on the stand the importance of what that particular task truly means to us if it is worthy or if it is just something of pressure and anxiety.
Even I as a person have found myself doing things that is not in my line of jurisdiction or job description just because I want some certain tasks to be perfect. Sometimes when you look at it it feels like i am trying to please my bosses and in turn this brings about to various emotional discomfort which includes me not wanting to disappoint others or to avoid conflicts that would seem like I am irresponsible at my job.
So definitely there is a difference between when you are pressured externally and when you consciously decide to do things based on your choices. It is actually better to prioritize internal choices as this would help you to make internal decisions that are both healthy for you and create a mental balance in whatever space you find yourself.
