Okay yeah the title might be quite exaggerating but ever since I got this hair dryer, it really blew my mind! (ha ha pun intended)
As you know, I got curly hair and since I had my hair bleached and dyed, I need to change my hair care routine and at the same time use the appropriate products to not bring further damage to my hair and also to bring out the best curls (which I have been missing out on!).
Since my hair is also damaged (not severely tho thankfully), the curl pattern kinda changed. The ones with highlights need a little more push to curl properly which is a normal reaction for a hair that's bleached this light in one session. So you now have any idea why I needed to do the serious aftercare.
What I do and use before
I use a hair dryer but most of the time I just air dry it since I'm just at home anyway. My old hair dryer was a cheap one (probably like $20) and it was just a compact travel dryer. It didn't have any heat options - which means it can only blow hot air which is damaging to the hair. I need to lessen the heat use (or not at all) to my hair so I need a dryer that has a cool option.
Since I also have a curly hair, I need a diffuser - which allows the hair to dry without blowing and flying it everywhere like an idiot.
Panasonic EH-NE82 Ionity Hair Dryer
I specifically looked for a hair dryer that has a diffuser attachment and with a cool option but also isn't cheap nor isn't expensive.

I found this perfect hair dryer for me. I ordered it on Shopee which costs around $72 and it arrived a week later.
The box contains a warranty card + manual, hair dryer, and two attachments (including the diffuser that I need!).
The design is so beautiful, I like the bronzey-rose goldish color and the sleek black. It really looks elegant.
It's kinda big and a bit heavy.
I like that it has a filter at the back so it doesn't blow you ugly air with dust and all that since it filters them. Pretty amazing since most blowers I see don't have this feature.
That small thing on top is where the ions come from. This hair dryer blows out ions to hair too, which apparently coats the hair and moisturizes it. It also make is smooth and shiny.
The switches are right next to each other so you can slide it and choose an option easily. It has 3 temperature and 2 speed settings which is very useful. The one button on top is a cool shot button which keeps the air cool. I tried it and I think it only works when you have the hot option and and want to easily switch the cool option on without sliding those buttons. Then just release whenever ready to keep the air hot again.
Here is how it looks like with the set nozzle.
And here's the diffuser which comes with the hair dryer. I can actually just buy a hair dryer and buy another diffuser if they don't have it but I'm not sure if they will fit lol. So I just bought something that has diffuser with it cos why not.
As you can see, there's a lot of holes there which allows the air to be spread and not be concentrated on one area. This allows my hair to be dried and be kept in place, without flying everywhere and messing the style up.
It's not common to find a dryer with this attachment here, well, since most have straight hair. The salon that I went to previously don't even have this, which was also why my hair was kinda messed up that time.
It looks enormous!
It also became heavier since the diffuser is already quite heavy. I like that the diffuser is big though, so it can scoop more hair.
To test it out!
I used the Prequel App to edit that's why there's like weird writing on the lower left. That eye cover is their filter too, and I thought to myself "HEY THAT'S MY STYLE" xD
There are a few things/styles you can use the diffuser for curly hair and I have to research more on it first but this is one of them. As you can see, it puts the curls in place while it dries.
I also put a lot of Cantu leave in conditioner on my hair before drying it...
...and for the result...
Like woah.
This is what I meant when I say it changed my life. Like for many years I just used the normal hair dryer and it gives me frizz and messes up the hair before even drying it so my curls weren't that much defined but JUST LOOK AT THAT.
I was actually really surprised that I missed so much on definition just because I wasn't using the proper tools and product for my hair. Even when I shook my hair it stayed in place since it was dried well. I also haven't experimented that much on volume yet, but the result of this one was just amazing.
For comparison, this is how it looks like before the diffuser-era.
And the best part is that even the next day it stayed nice since it was styled and dried nicely and I also used a silk sleeping cap. It lasted for about 3 days before I washed it again. It will stay for more days though but I was sweating a lot so my head became disgusting lol.
The hair dryer was really worth it. To think that it wasn't cheap and not that expensive either. I'm expecting this to last 5 years or so, and I'm glad I now take care of my hair properly (unlike before). :D
