Magandang Buhay (Beautiful life), fabulous Hivers!
It is amazing how the days rolled into weeks, months, and finally, the page turned into the new year, 2022. Sometimes I wonder where have I been hiding that as though time quickly flew away.
Have you ever felt that way or wondered at some point too?
Some time ago, someone said when we feel time passes by quickly, it's because we are actually enjoying what we do. And I agree because more often than not, I feel the hours are just not enough to get things done especially when I am doing something that I love.
On the other hand, there were occasions when the day seems to drag on for too long and I just wished it would pass by quickly. Reflecting upon those times, I realized that those were the days when I don't really feel the best. Those were the times when I was either bored or simply didn't like where I was or what I was doing.
Anyway, back to this week's first question, "What are you most grateful for right now?"
With all that has transpired, I am just happy that my loved ones and I are still breathing, loving, smiling, laughing, and talking to this very day and in the best of health too. So I say that this life and everything else among all others, is what I am truly grateful for right now. We have been given another chance to make our lives worthy and I hope we will do just that while we still have this precious breath. This isn't something we can just pick out somewhere, it is a privilege we have been accorded with and such should not be taken for granted because once it is lost, there are no second chances.
Life has been really good and beautiful despite the many challenging times that have sort of given us a roller coaster ride in the past year. For this life itself and for everything else, I am absolutely thankful and joyful so I put my hands together in prayer of thanksgiving.
"Gratitude is not only the memory but the homage of the heart rendered to God for his goodness."
And I also chose to take this week's second challenge which calls for us to share one nice thing about ourselves.
This is quite a challenge but let me just say that I could be the nicest person you would ever meet. Too nice in fact, that I would say yes to you or anyone even when I should be saying no because I don't want to offend you or anyone else.
Oh, geez, just stop! LOL!
That was me before, but not anymore. I have learned to say 'NO' for my own good. It feels great actually because it's really freeing when we learn to not care about what other people say or think about us.
But wait! Aren't we getting away from what was actually asked?
Kidding aside, I am more of an optimistic and grateful person. I wasn't always like this but I learned along the way to always strive to find something good out of any circumstances even when they have been unfavorable to me.
Someone recently said he was astonished at how positive I am despite the experiences I've had in the past year like several deaths in my clan and others. I credit that to my old man who often said that life doesn't stop just because we are having problems. He reminded us to look at the brighter side even when we feel things are against us and be thankful that we still have our wits to help us get through the tough times.
Oh, I fall down too, cry and lament but it doesn't take long for me to get out of it because I learned to not allow the challenges of life to get the better of me. So yes, I keep my perspectives mostly positive, hence, I can say that am too :)
Many thanks, for your beautiful questions this week that kind of brought me out of my shell.
