We set early and drove away from our wee kingdom yesterday morning without breakfast and headed to my parents' place.
The day was quite gloomy and the fog was thick and covered most of the valley which reminded me yet again how fortunate we are to be enjoying for free such a magnificence of nature. Others need to pay to have a view of them, that I learned through the comment section of my previous posts that are related to nature. Others especially those in cities do have to travel distances for similar sceneries which we are spoiled of here in the countryside.
Driving on, we passed by the valley and headed to our intended destination after dropping by the grocery for some snacks for we were starving and we didn't even have coffee before we left the house.
I love this new installation by the side of the road.
We arrived an hour later and it was too late for the husband to realize we didn't have the key to the other house and we were supposed to take some stuff there. Sign of aging I said, lol!
The good thing is that mother is looking better although she's rather pale and had dark circles around her eyes which obviously showed she hasn't been sleeping well. It pains me to see her that way but I'm still thankful that she's getting through life like a warrior. My old man was out. We met him along the way, driving to an official engagement down the valley.
Mom was still in bed so I gave her time to rest and took the chance doing some chores. I tend to do them every time we visit the old folks. There are things to tidy up and organize, medicines to check and fill up and such. Guess it was the least I could do because I am not always present in their midst. Although at some point, I wished they agree to hiring a help because it is necessary especially that my old man often goes out for his official commitments. Guess we might need to woo them some more.😅
Meanwhile, my plants were blooming and thriving. They seem to love the incessant rains. The blackberries have generous fruits too which unfortunately, I haven't taken photos of and forgotten to pick before we left.
The yard at the place is still a mess. Gravel and sand all over the spaces. The yard works had been halted 'coz the man we were intending to do the job is busy with his other contracts so we will have to wait for our turn.
Anyhow, after doing stuff, preparing something for mom's lunch and reminding my niece to look after her granny, the husband and I bade goodbye, heading towards our next destination for the day - my in-law's place. I'm just glad we are able to do such trips between places.
The weather cleared up a bit and we got to see the gorgeous blue sky with patches of really white clouds.
It didn't last long though for it drizzled too soon, making the clouds cover the sky yet again.
We dropped by our favorite food place to grab a bite for we were starving but that I would share on another day.
It had been a whirlwind Saturday and I felt so worn out when we come back home to our lil paradise later in the afternoon, then catching up on my threads duties for the Battle of the Armies challenge (which just made me experience for the second time the brutality of the challenge and me not being able to bring home some bacon).
And so we are going to take things easy for today. Until tomorrow, maybe...
