Hi hivers, the most awaiting event is coming and I will share with you my most nerve wrecking moment, my CATALINA QUEEN PAGEANT.
Before anything else I would like to say thank you for all the people behind my back to make this event possible and memorable for me, to my team and glam team thank you very much. And of course to my family who's always there for me.
First was our call time is 4pm and my manager decided to fetch me at north bound terminal at 12pm because we have to stop over in my designer for my summer wear and along the way is to get the sash and everything that we need.
And then when where done with the sash, we almost forgot that we need to buy a picture frame for the award for Miss photogenic. To inform everyone my manager will be the host, the organization or the youth of CATALINA got my manager to be the host and also the photographer of the photoshoot that I share in my last blog. When we're done buying the frame, along the way I fell asleep because of the travel that it took almost 20-30mins to reach out destination.
Moreover, when we arrived in the venue of the said event we unpack the make ups, lights, make up chair and etc. for us to get started right a way. The event will exactly start at 8 in the evening and we have so much time to prepare because we arrive as early as we predict.
The flow of the event has a five changing of clothes, first is our goddess theme for production, second is the casual wear, third the summer wear and preliminary questions and after that the talent and the evening gown.
And after preliminary questions down to top 3, this moment is really a nerve wrecking because you don't know who will they call and I didn't really expect that I will be in the top 3 cause I'm the very last candidate that been called, I mean my number was 2 and when the host started to say " you will be the one to complete our top 3 candidate number" so the background music must be a drum roll to intensify the environment and the host will repeat his speech together with my number and I was shock because I didn't really expect it.
So when the top 3 left all the scores will be back to zero and the criteria for judging to be crown as CATALINA QUEEN 2024 is 40% beauty and 60% Q and A.
As what I have said, I was the one who got called so I will be also the last one to answer a random question coming from the judge that you will pick. The judge that i pick read the question "what would be the quality or possess of being a Catalina residence" so my answered goes this way " for me being a Catalina residence must have a kindness in her/ his heart because in that way of simple act can have a big impact in someone lives. We should be kind not just in our residence but also in those people whose working their butt just to survive daily lives, people just as waitress, janitors and even homeless people. With that simple act can touch a thousand lives with a smile on their faces".
After I answered that, I don't even know what I've said that time cause it's really a nerve wrecking and sometimes you will pause a moment or even can have a mental block it happens in my past pageants and I used it as my stepping stone to reach where I am right now.
And the moment of truth the announcement of winners and I was called for your catalina queen second runner up, as what I expect because the two beautiful ladies, their answers are really good I can't denied that because even for myself I can say that they deserve the title that they have.
It's really a memorable experience for me, I know a lot of people that became my friends and also the people that held the event, it will not be successful if they don't have put a lot of efforts for the success of the events.
