Greetings to the beautiful Ladies of Hive🤗
It feels so good to be here again! I want to first apologize for being away for about two weeks. I’ve been caught up with other engagements, but I truly missed interacting and sharing in this wonderful community. Now I’m back and excited to join this week’s contest discussion.
Topic: If we realize that we should love ourselves more, yet no one teaches us how to do so, how can we begin to love ourselves? What can we do to feel better about ourselves?
After seeing the topic, here is my contribution
Self-love sounds simple, yet it can be one of the hardest things to practice—especially when no one actually teaches us how to do it. For a long time, I thought loving myself meant just feeling good or buying myself nice things. But I’ve learned that self-love is much deeper—it’s about valuing yourself, setting boundaries, and treating yourself with the same kindness you give to others.
Here are some ways I believe we can begin to truly love ourselves
Accept who we are, flaws and all:-Nobody is perfect, and that’s okay. Embracing our strengths and weaknesses allows us to live without the pressure of being someone we are not.
Take care of our minds and bodies:-Eating well, resting enough, and staying active are not just for health—they are acts of self-respect.
Speak kindly to ourselves:- The way we talk to ourselves matters. Instead of saying “I’m not good enough,” we can say, “I’m learning and improving every day.”
- Surround ourselves with positive people. When we spend time with people who uplift and inspire us, it becomes easier to see our own worth.
- Celebrate small wins. Even little achievements deserve a smile, a thank you to ourselves, and maybe even a small reward.
Self-love is not a one-day activity; it’s a journey. It might feel strange at first, but with consistent effort, it becomes a natural part of life. The more we practice it, the better we feel about ourselves, and the more we have to give to the people around us.
"When we learn to love ourselves, we teach the world how to love us too." đź’–
