This hobby of mine didn't start when I was a child or a teenager. I wasn't expecting it also to learn this in my early 20s. But I'm glad to know this thing because it opens new opportunities for me.
It started when my sister taught me the basics of crocheting. After that first day, I was getting hooked and enjoyed it so much when I hold my hook and yarn. It became my stress reliever after my work in the hospital.
My day won't be complete without crochet. It became my vitamins. And while I'm creating something, I'm also creating my happiness. Crocheting helps me relax, and sometimes ponder things on my mind. So whenever I'm sad, lonely, missing someone, feeling down, stressed, or even when I'm happy, I crochet. Yes, I crochet all the time. 😁

By crocheting also, my creativeness enhances every day. And I am always excited every time I started on something. My patience was being tested and enhanced through it. Crocheters made mistakes too. Like wrong measurements, an incorrect number of stitch, and not good enough designs are the factors that make me pull the string back again. But that's the good thing when it comes to crochet. You can always start new with the same yarn. It means you can still recycle it.
I enjoyed making crocheted coin purses, cellphone covers, purses, hats, bags, earrings then lastly wearables. Some of my workmates bought everything I made because they find it adorable which inspires me more to create beautiful stuff. And then I realize that it seems like a good idea of making crochet a business.

So I decided to make accounts on certain social media like Facebook account, Facebook page Instagram and now Tiktok.
By promoting my products through social media, I constantly received orders online. These help me reach out to far places. By just answering customers' inquiries and orders online and sending their orders to couriers, my small business continued.
So by the year 2015, I decided to resign from my work as an attendant in a hospital, and concentrate on my small online business. I became a full-time businesswoman as well as a mother of 2 kids. I was happy then to receive constant orders. Sometimes I asked help from my 2 siblings (who knew crochet also) to help me with some rush orders, especially during summer. I can say that my business was a success because a lot of people appreciate my work.
But then came this pandemic. Many businesses were closed because the economy was not in good shape. People used their money to spend only on their basic needs. And I admit, my creations weren't considered as one of the basic needs.
For almost 2 years from start of the year 2020 to end of 2021, I can say that the orders were diminished. I only received 1-2 orders in just a month. But I didn't stop. I continued my happiness in crocheting, creating beautiful stuff, enhancing my skills everyday. And that's the best thing when you're in love with your hobby turned into business. Because you can't feel tired, you can't be moved by just a pandemic. But through that time,I can say, I have improved!
