I walked into a memorabilia store the other day. And out of all things they had, from cassettes to CDs (yes, even these have become collectables), it was this chest of Ultraman figures that brought memories flooding back.
This is the first movie I remember watching in a cinema when I was about 4/5 years old. And watching a cinema back then was a big thing. There was a countdown to when we were going. Got all dressed up, Dad plonked me in the basket on the bicycle, and off we went. Just Dad and I.
Popcorn wasn't a thing at cinemas, at least not here in Malaysia. But sunflower seeds were. It has been banned for some time now, replaced by popcorn. Also because people ate and just dropped the skin on the floor, like everywhere.
The other thing that some idiots would do is eat chewing gum, and then stick it under the chair or arm-rest. There were many unpleasant experiences; thank goodness, not for me, not in a cinema but a bus-stop yes!
I don't remember much of the movie, just a lot of grunting and fighting. It was fun because Dad and I had a typical father-daughter relationship. And having these special moments with him were just toooo special.
Can you remember your first movie? Tell me 😃
Thank you for dropping in and reading...
Till next time, Carpe Diem❣️
