Hello ladies of hive😊,
My participating in this week's contest marks the beginning of a new journey in this corner of hive. I warmly welcome you to my blog...I hope you like it here.
A huge thanks to for the kind invite.
2️⃣ What has been your greatest achievement at a professional or work level, perhaps a project that made you feel proud or something you did on your own and that only you could have done at home or at your workplace?
Hmmm...where do I start?
I've tried a lot of things in the two decades I've lived on earth. I've had fleeting interests, momentary burning passions, a lot of great ideas that I felt at that time would be the best thing that would happen to me. It comes as no surprise to you when I say little to none of them turned out the way I'd hoped they would.
I'll be telling you all about the few of those that left the strongest impact, the ones that make my heart warm up when I think of them. The dearest of all my brainchildren.
One of the things I absolutely love that I can't get tired of learning about is astrology. Most people can't relate to this, I understand. Astrology makes me feel all giddy inside so I naturally gravitate towards it. The idea to start an astrology blog came to me in 2020 during the lockdown. It is my little space on internet where I do one of the things I love without judgement for doing it. I looked up tutorials on YouTube on how to create blogs/websites and after watching a few I got the hang of it. I made use of wordpress for the entire process, it was all really stressful but it was definitely worth it. I made my first and only post when I was done with the blog creating process, that too was equally stressful but I don't regret any part of it. The idea of the blog was to show people that astrology was way beyond sun signs AKA zodiac signs, I wanted to show people that it embodied a lot more than the surface knowledge some of us know. I haven't adequately done that yet but I haven't given up on it and I hope to fulfill this dream someday. You can check out the blog here.
All the free time I had during the lockdown made me come up with a lot of ideas. Besides the already mentioned blog, I started a small business too. It was a hair product business. Natural hair is something else I love and I wanted to make products that are effective on our coily, kinky textured hair.
I started this but the unavailability of some major ingredients I needed for production made me stop. Since then I've tried a lot of products in the market and I've found what works for my hair so I recommend these successfully tested products to people that ask or people that need help with their hair problems.
Trying this business didn't give me as much gratification as the blog did and that is okay. It made me realize that being in the production part of the hair industry wasn't for me and recommending great commercially available products was more feasible as it was easier to purchase and it'll be available whenever one needs it. I'm glad I tried the business though because I wouldn't have known it wasn't for me if I hadn't tried it at all.
This year I got another great idea. I have a lot of interests I know, trust me I know. It can all be exhausting sometimes but I honestly wouldn't want it any other way. I love food and cooking is very therapeutic to me so I thought,"Why not start a food business?",so I did.
I started this semester. I'd take orders during the week and cook at weekends because that was the only way it could fit seamlessly into my school schedule. I got very good reviews. knowing that people enjoyed my cooking and I was making some extra cash from it made me really happy and motivated me to continue.
I know these aren't exactly grandiose achievements but they are mine and I am proud of each and every one of them.
I've recently learned to give myself a mental pat on the back for the little things I do and not be too hard on myself when I make wrong choices. This has helped a lot.
With things we do,the intention is what matters the most. Knowing you have good intentions towards others and yourself in what you do should give you some kind of inner peace. I don't exactly know why I just typed that but I hope it helps someone somehow.
I appreciate your reading this far, it means a lot🥰.
I invite to participate in this contest. I'd love to read about your shopping experiences or some achievements you've made in life. Do check out the guidelines here.
