It was like we had said all along already in the spring
When autumn reaching and people have to get back inside again, covid will strike back. Just wait and see
That time is now and luckily the Dutch government is doing stuff about it to already fight back instead of waiting until stuff really gets bad.

The most important ones from the new measures are:
- No meeting up at home with more than 4 people
- Bars and restaurants close up at 22.00 (before alcohol fest takes over)
- No larger groups than 30 people in other gatherings in large buildings
- No audiences in sportsmatches
- Encouraging to work more from home again
Honestly I am glad that they did something. The amount of infections and therefore hospital admittances was also on the rise and that is one of the biggest factores which is counting at the moment if you ask me.
Not the amount of infections on a daily basis. Those are currently also a lot of young people and just way more tests are getting done. So that number isn't representing anything if you are comparing it to the first wave. The hospital admissions are.
Because in the pace where we are heading at, in the weekend we should already start to downscale regular healthcare. And that is something that you should never want. Because postponing treatments and surgeries give bigger problems in the end.

I was writing about this earlier in the week. Dutch hospitals have been downsized and efficianised so much that there isn't room for a pandemic treatment setting anymore. Holland has about 40.000 hospital beds throughout the whole country with all hospitals counted together.
It is not that much for a 17 million population if you ask me, considering that often people will have to stay for more days. The Dutch system is kind of designed to kick you out as soon as possible. Not that that is a bad thing, being in a hospital gives you a large chance to increasingly get even more ill. But these people who stay longer mess up 'the system', and that would already start happening this weekend, if nothing is done.
Now the annoying thing with covid is that it always has a delay in the results, so it will take about two weeks to see of anything is actually happening. Until then we are given over to the gods again.
What this will mean to me? Not that much actually. With enough people around me who are at home acutally having covid I was already minding my own business and taking care of the stuff moving around my house.
But there was some stuff planned and that is going overboard again till further notice. It is what it is, and let's deal with it again. It might just end up being a loooong winter!
