I'm very glad I came upon this one as I can kill two birds with one stone and answer both with one story👏👏👏 Here we go again 😅🙏🍀
1. If you could change one thing about your personality, what would it be?
Or/and
2. When was the last time you wrote a letter to someone?
These are some very interesting questions and I will be answering the second first. The story goes a few months back to when I was staying in Morelos neighborhood here in Morelia, Michoacàn Mexico. Every Sunday I would go to the local market which was absolutely huge, and buy everything I needed for the following week.
I absolutely love the markets here in Mexico, so full of colour and lively! The fruits make my mouth water and the first time I went I bought from several fruit stands😋
It was very hot as although this market was outdoors, it was covered with awnings, keeping out any breeze and making it stifling😓 As I got to the last fruit stand coming back through the second row, I stood in front of the stand, three Mexicans in were waiting to take my order. My head started swooning from the heat when my turquoise blue eyes met a dark brown pair of eyes as a very strong man asked me if I wanted something to drink. I managed to squeek out the word agua and then saw him stretch his muscles as he hoisted up a 20 litre bottle of water and pou me a glass. In that instant I had what the French call a coup de foudre or a lightening bolt😍⚡🤣🤣 In English we say love at first sight, but it just doesn't do it justice😅 It was too late for me. I was hooked!💞 My head swimming with images of us picnicking by the ocean🥂
Wine and flowers in bed before we make love😋
Then he romantically feeds me grapes like in Roman times, while I slowly come back down to Earth☺
All week I just couldn't get my mind off of him. And as the weeks slowly dragged by, I found myself jumping out of bed every Sunday just to run off to my market just to see my handsome fruit guy named Samuél, who wasn't wearing any kind of ring by the way😅 Thought I was going to get lucky😁
Not a chance! Three months later I saw a dark head peering out at me from behind his fruit stand. "This is my son", he says. "I have four wives and I'm shopping for the fifth", he smiled at me as my jaw dropped😲 But his colleagues were laughing and one shook his head as if saying it was all a lie. I left the market all distressed and decided to skip the market for two Sundays as I had to economize, waiting for my pay to come in.
Well in the meantime, my trusted longtime best friend of 24 years who happened to be my ex-husband, stole my new debit card out of my mailbox in France, and having my codes, he so kindly emptied my account🤮
Christmas was spent very hungry and that's when I wrote my last letter. Translating it into Spanish holding back the tears, I wrote what had happened, telling him that I'd only bought my fruit from his stand and could no longer afford to eat😢 And that I could drown in his beautiful eyes and smile (yes, I actually wrote that sappy phrase🤢).
The following Sunday I slipped the letter into his overall pockets and with tears in my eyes explained what had happened as best as my poco Spanish would let me. Telling him to read my letter I dashed off down the into the market promising to come back later.
30 minutes later I came back from the opposite direction. He stopped me with a bag in his hand, ran around his stand gathering fruit in the baggy🙏 I started crying telling him to stop😭 He kept filling up the sack and handed it to me with a hug telling me to take care💞
I was so touched by his generosity, but unfortunately, my situation only got worse. And two weeks later he asked me jokingly when we were going to go back to France, bragging in front of his colleagues. I then realized he really was married to one Mexican woman, the mother of his child😔
I lost my room in that neighborhood and went off to another where a girl in my group put me up for a week. Then she had to dash off on an emergency to the U.S. and I was left to sleep in the streets for a week and a half as my card was frozen and the bank refused to issue another😥
Nobody else offered to help me except one girl let me sleep over one night. I've since then been rescued by a Mexican lady and have never again seen my fruit stand crush. I'm sure he never even cared but just wanted to sell his fruit😤 This leads me to the first question after I've detailed the second.
- If you could change one thing about your personality, what would it be? Well I'd be less sappy romantic damned straight! Next time I'll just have my fruit and eat it too!🤣🤣🤣
