Adult life does free us but along with the freedom does come with responsibilities and difficult choices. That is so clearly apparent when we have children. Rather than becoming dependent on the system that I have concluded as financially oppressive I went through a life makeover, enrolled as a Student nurse, after 9 months got hired before I graduated, wrote down my long termed goals, laid out a 25+ year plan, and very importantly learned using as many Tax efficient revenue protecting advantages as I could understand.
There have been plenty of challenges, mistakes, sacrifice and problems after more than 25 years I am where I expected to be, to have clarity and options. And life has become much harder than when I first took on this challenge and I have become deeply concerned on how my sons will manage in their adult lives.
They do take after me, I hope they learned enough.
When I am done, I can leave them an advantage of clarity and options.
