Reincarnated in Another World as a Level 1 Hero

I woke beneath a violet sky,
Twin moons watching from way up high.
No city noise, no car, no phone
in a foreign land with grass unknown.

A glowing screen before my sight,
Stats and skills in silver light.
“Level one,” it calmly said on the screen,
"So, this is how heroes should have been."

I see a village just beyond the hill,
With wooden fence, gates so still.
I walked and they say, "It's a prophecy,"
As if this world was waiting for me.

Steel of sword feels light within my hand,
Earth, fire and wind bends at my command.
I hear every cheer and hopeful stares
And eyes that aren't good on my wares.

Through deep forests with crystal streams,
Past ruins built from shattered dreams,
Giant spiders climbed from shadowed caves,
Dying is permanent. There are no saves.

At night I camped around a fire,
As I question fate and its desire.
I am a hero. For them, I fight.
But how much is true? I wonder all night.

If one day, the portal showed once more,
return to my world at my door,
Would I return to who I once knew
Or stay beneath this sky where the moon is two?
