There are days when I don’t want to chase plans or fix anything at all, days when all I want is to lay on my bed and be lazy. It’s not about giving up, but about letting the body and mind rest without guilt. This poem is for those slow moments when doing nothing feels exactly right.
The Lazy Poem
Staying in bed a little too long,
Lying in the bed singing a song.
Humming on the ceiling, a quiet tune,
Lazying around from morning till noon.
No lists to check, no goals to meet,
Just tangled sheets and above my feet.
The clock can wait, feeling the beat.
Lazying around, a song too sweet.
My phone lies close, unused and still,
No scrolling, no chatting or thrill.
I breathe, I yawn, I simply chill.
Lazying around, that's how I feel.
Time feels slow, no need to grind,
No need to plan, just on bed to unwind.
In doing less, I strangely find,
Lazying around for heart and mind.
Some call it waste, some call it wrong,
But rest has been ignored too long.
My eyes are closed, still humming this song.
Lazying around, my will isn't strong.
So let me lie and just let me be,
This quiet time is all I ask, maybe.
Let me be for a while until I'm ready.
For now, I choose to just be lazy.
