Amigas de la Comunidad de Ladies of Hive, que gusto poder ver de nuevo estas iniciativas que nos hacen recordar que todos los tiempos tienen su encanto que bien vale la pena recordar con gustos, sabores y sensaciones.
En esta oportunidad LadiesofHive, nos presenta la 50ava edición del concurso semanal, y una de las preguntas que indica es la siguiente: Cuál es nuestra parte favorita del otoño, y porqué?, pues bien, trataré de contestarla sin llorar.

Ladies of the Ladies of Hive Community, what a pleasure to see again these initiatives that make us remember that all times have their charm that is worth remembering with tastes, flavours and sensations.
In this opportunity LadiesofHive, presents the 50th edition of the weekly contest, and one of the questions that indicates is the following one: What is your favorite part of fall and why?, well, I will try to answer it without crying.
Un viaje Inolvidable con mi Maita
"Maita", es una palabra que se usa para llamar a nuestras madre u abuela y es usada mayormente en el oriente del país; mi abuela era de Carúpano, Estado Sucre, donde tengo vagos pero felices recuerdos mi niñez.
Mi padre trabajaba en una prestigiosa Línea Aérea de la época llamada VIASA; un día él llega de viaje y me dice que me tenía un regalo: dos pasajes aéreos , tan solo debía escoger un acompañante, sin dudarlo dos veces, le dije que deseaba lleva a mi abuela a pasear a España, un país que ella deseaba conocer por su cultura, el flamenco, sus museos, plazas y el Palacio Real de Madrid.
De un día para otro, nuestros boletos fueron aprobados y en cuestión de cinco días ya nos encontrábamos subiendo a un avión rumbo a Madrid, Barajas; la fecha 18 de Octubre de 1995.

An unforgettable voyage with my Maita
"Maita" is a word used to call our mother or grandmother and it is mostly used in the east of the country; my grandmother was from Carúpano, Sucre State, where I have vague but happy memories of my childhood.
My father worked for a prestigious airline of the time called VIASA; one day he arrived on a trip and told me that he had a gift for me: two airline passes, I only had to choose a companion, without hesitation, I told him that I wanted to take my grandmother to Spain, a country that she wanted to know for its culture, flamenco, museums, squares and the Royal Palace of Madrid.

Un Otoño en Madrid
Recuerdo cada minuto de ese viaje, Maita llegó tarde al aeropuerto, justo en el momento en el que debíamos abordar, ella tenía entonces 70 años y decía que le tuvieran paciencia; no durmió nada en el transcurso del vuelo y rezaba cada vez que había una turbulencia.
Al llegar a nuestro hostal, de inmediato quiso descansar, tuvieron que conseguirle varias cobijas, porque el frío era intenso, a pesar de estar en unos agradables 18 - 16 grados Celsius, por supuesto ella no estaba acostumbrada.
Una vez recuperadas las fuerzas, pudimos pasear y disfrutar del ambiente, le impactaba el color que iba adquiriendo los arboles de las plazas, quería traerse todo lo que veía en "El Corte Inglés"; Dios mío... siento que fue la semana pasada que ha ocurrido todo esto.
Amo este momento, amo este viaje y por eso me gusta tanto esta época de otoño, ella quedaba absorta viendo todo, como una niña que recién descubre el mundo, ansiosa por vivir, por conocer y disfrutar.
An Autumn in Madrid
I remember every minute of that trip, Maita arrived late at the airport, just when we were due to board, she was 70 years old at the time and said to be patient; she didn't sleep at all during the flight and prayed every time there was turbulence.
When we arrived at our hostel, she immediately wanted to rest. They had to get her several blankets, because the cold was intense, even though it was a pleasant 18 - 16 degrees Celsius, and of course she was not used to it.
Once we had recovered our strength, we were able to walk around and enjoy the atmosphere, she was impressed by the colour of the trees in the squares, she wanted to bring everything she saw in "El Corte Inglés"; my God... I feel like it was only last week that all this happened.
I love this moment, I love this trip and that's why I like this autumn season so much, she was absorbed in seeing everything, like a child who has just discovered the world, anxious to live, to know and to enjoy.

Otoño, también son sabores
Como es bien sabido, en estos meses abundan las auyamas (calabazas) y en cada temporada mi Maita nos deleitaba con dulces preparados con este fruto; el más me gustaba era el quesillo de auyama, le quedaba espectacularmente delicioso, cada vez que podía, le hacía preparar uno para lleva a mi guardia en el aeropuerto y compartir a la hora de la merienda. Nunca tome la precaución de apuntar las recetas de Maita, siempre me decía: mañana lo hago y entre una mañana y otra, el tiempo pasó volando. Lamento haber perdido muchas de mis fotografías tomadas en esos años, pero los recuerdos quedarán siempre en mi memoria.
Autumn, also flavours
As is well known, pumpkins abound in these months and in every season my Maita would delight us with sweets prepared with this fruit; the one I liked the most was the pumpkin flan, it was spectacularly delicious, every time I could, I would have her prepare one to take to my guard at the airport and share at snack time. I never took the precaution of writing down Maita's recipes: she always left it for another day: "tomorrow I'll make it" and between one morning and the next, time flew by. I regret having lost many of my photographs taken during those years, but the memories will always remain with me.

Amigos, que bonito saber que me has acompañado hasta aquí, ha sido un verdadero gusto poder escribir esta publicación colmada de bellos momentos, de casualidad entre un párrafo y otro he recibido llamadas de mi familia y hemos podido conversar un rato de estos momentos. Gracias nuevamente por tu compañía, por favor cuídense y así cuidan de sus seres amados; se les quiere mucho..!!

Friends, it is very nice to know that you have accompanied me here, it has been a real pleasure to be able to write this publication full of beautiful moments, call it a coincidence between one paragraph and another I have received calls from my family and we have been able to talk for a while about these moments.
