I am so closed that as I mentioned in my previous blogs, I am already on maternity leave since May 06, 2024. Currently I am staying in our home, resting and preparing everything. OB-gyn visits, vaccines and more.
Have you prepared your delivery bag and Hospital Documents? The husband asked a few days ago while we were talking through a video call.
Hmmp, not yet, maybe in the next days., I said but he kept on nagging me that I should have prepared it already , bla bla bla!
It was so irritating to my ears! . Of course I know it, I just felt tired these days that I spent most of the time on the couch.
I find it more comfortable to sleep here rather than on the bed as it was so hard to get up! Back pains, my arms hurts due to vaccine and the terrible muscle cramps! Opening my room door knob was a challenge every morning!
Feeling annoyed, lol just a grumpy pregnant lady I am, finally decided to pack my hospital bag.
At first, I was thinking of buying a baby bag but then for me it wasn't practical. Like where to use it after? So instead, I opted for a duffle bag. Just bought it online at Shopee.
As a first time Mom and since the husband won't be here, I had to ensure everything was well prepared for the convenience of my companions.
Thanks to social media, here are what I needed to bring at the hospital during delivery.
Baby's Clothes
Nope I just didn't put it in a bag, but used a zip lock to organize a complete set.
First was the receiving outfit. Here in my country, oldies believe that babies should not wear new clothes for the first time. So the baby would grow up humble something like that.
Not that I believe as it also crossed my mind so I asked an office mate for a set of his son. Yet, also oldies says, the child would inherit the traits of whoever owned the clothes he first wear.
Ah, crazy superstitious beliefs . What did I follow? Lol, all the above are brand new except for the beanie.
Also, I put a label on the zip lock. I printed it on sticker paper before going home. My sister in law would just pick up one depending on the purpose.
I prepared from receiving day outfit up to day two and of course one for going home.
Though the Doctor said, if I deliver my baby normally it would take only 24 hrs. and I will be discharged. My last check up results I could but still we both didn't know if I really can. So aside from this I also bought some extras.
No more labels as I forgot to print, pardon my penmanship .
Baby essentials
I have watched several vlogs and also several of my friends advise me to buy a small size of items only. As sometimes the baby's skin was sensitive and what I purchased was not suitable.
Yet, I don't want my baby to get used to expensive brands. I might not be able to afford it .
Now it was ready along with the pillows and no need to panic next month.
Hospital Documents
Bought an organizer and segregated the needed documents per page with labels! This included all my laboratory tests, ultrasounds, copies of our marriage certificates and live birth, valid ID's etc.
And since I wanted to be in peace, chillin while waiting for my due date I also purchased a crib.
Supposedly, this is not what I am going to buy. However, I again read in some posts that some baby's don't like to be in a crib. Like they grow so fast etc so for me not to regret I decided to buy the cheaper one.
Foldable, co-sleeper, light weight, that is all I need.
Now, I can say that I am ready for the next month and praying for a safe and healthy delivery.
Before I ended this blog, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL MOMS!
What about you ladies, any tips or comments about nesting? Would gladly appreciate it.
