Hi all 😊
I wanted to show you the angel I painted on a bedroom wall of a large villa for a client, Reggie Gambier, here in Spain. 150 x 185 cm.
He lives in the UK and has there in his garden a statue he loves very much. (I don’t know the creator of this bronze statute, but all kudos to him/her. The owner said there are no markings that points to the creator on the statue, but he concluded it looked like made in China and is probably a mass produced statue.)
He asked me if I could paint it on a bedroom wall from his holiday home.
Of course, I can do that 😉
So I went to this villa and painted the mural. It is rather large…
I finished this painting / mural in 02-2016 and it is one of my earlier murals. Hope I did it justice😊
I started my art in 2011, and I am self taught. I love to share my progress steps with the world.
These are the photographs from the owner, I used to work from. (I have permission to use them, as also the steps and finished photos of the artwork, in my art promotion and media online)
Thought I include this photo of the statue during an icy day. As it looked really cool.
~The Dimensions of the finished painted angel on the wall are 150 x 185 cm
~Underground is the wall and it was in good condition for me to start painting on after a wash. The structure is rough though.
~I used metallic (coloured) paints in a few bronze shades as it needed to resemble his statue.
~techniques used; painting with normal brushes.
Here are a few step by step photos/ SBS’s, Enjoy 😊
Step 1
Me painting the first layers… photo made by the client.
Step 2
This was later in the day, a little dark, so the photo is grainy.
Step 3
Little detail, work in progress. Building up the depth more with many layers to give it a rounded feel.
Step 4
More layers added.
Step 5 finished:
Here you see the finished painting.
If you look closely to the top of the cabinet, it looks like she is floating above it in the middle.
A Real 3D Look!
The client thought so too, he said; “It looks like she floats!”
Without the cabinet in the photo… yes, it looks almost 3D, even now 😎
Thank you for looking and reading. I hope you enjoyed these few Step by Steps of this painting on a wall in Salobreña, Spain.
With my future new artworks, I will make a more detailed step by step for you 😉
Any questions or comments, let me know. Always happy to help 😊 and talk about art.
Have a great day all 😎👋🏻
