I had a package delivered today to my front porch and I was not expecting anything. I brought it in to open on the kitchen counter, trying to remember what heavy object I could possibly have forgotten about ordering.
Inside the nicely wrapped box was this smiling Green Man with a birds nest in his beard and a very sweet little Feathered Friend sitting atop his head!
Just in time for Beltane!
The Green Man represents rebirth and the new growth that occurs every spring.
Beltane is the Gaelic May Day festival held on the 1st of May, or about midway between the spring equinox and summer solstice in the northern hemisphere. wikipedia
I've always wanted a Green Man and have never had one. This is the best one I have ever seen!
Beltane celebrates spring, and the coming summer. I need to find the perfect place to hang The Green Man where I can see him and enjoy him every day!
