Shortest Day and Longest Night
Time to light the candles on the Yule log and celebrate the return of the sun god. Yule is one of the oldest winter celebrations. It begins today and ends on January 1st.
I am busy with Christmas preparations. There are still gifts to wrap and fudge to make and now there are preparations to be made as a blizzard is moving in. We are getting warnings that we may lose electrical power and internet connections. There are containers that need to be filled with water, because when I lose electricity here my water pump no longer will perform. I have a natural gas fireplace that will keep me semi warm because my furnace will not work during a power outage, and it is bitter cold outside. Events are being canceled and if the weather forecasters are wrong they are going to look really foolish!
