G'day ladies hive,
It does feel nice to brush off the cob-web after not writting for a very long time. Between living life, work, endless house chores, getting sick, then recovering , it seems hard to find time for leisure activities or hobby.
In response to this week's prompt, the one hobby I truly wish I could do for fun but I can't adopt it ( at least for now) - is extreme sport/activities.
Apparently, when I Googled what makes a hobby a hobby, I learnt an activity is considered a hobby if:
it is done regularly, not just once
you choose to do it in your free time
you enjoy the challenge and excitement
you spend time improving your skills
For me, the time investment isn't on top of the list that is hindering me from indulging in frequent extreme sport/activities, it's the financial investment that cost a lot. Furthermore, the risk of getting hurt while I'm exercising my freewill participating in these activities are high and serious, and the consequences of injury could put me out of work. Whether out-of-work temporarily or permanently, that can snowball into massive money-issues. Even worse, if the injury causes any damage to my health, I would be troubling and a burden to other people, for them now have to take care of me until I'm healed. It feel rather like an selfish act - my own joy and fulfillment at the cost of someone else's time, effort and money.
Nevertheless, in the past 1.5 decades, I have done some extreme sport/activities when I can. I don't think I ever feel more alive than being on the edge of death doing all of them. That thrill and rush of adrenaline, it cannot be explained nor described, it has to be lived in. Perhaps in the future if I win the jackpot or lottery , then I can truly be the daredevil I am born to be.
