Easter Didn’t Go as Planned… But It Still Meant Everything

Some days are indeed unpredictable. I had planned so well how my Easter Sunday would look, but unfortunately, I spent most of my day in the hospital. Quite unbelievable, but it is what it is.

All through yesterday, I was gathering all we needed for the Easter celebration today, and apart from that, I had an important party to attend today. My neighbor is celebrating the arrival of their new baby. The whole environment is filled with canopies, invited guests, DJs, and lots of delicacies. So my plan was to wake up on time this morning and prepare what my family and I will eat today before going to my neighbor's party in the afternoon. But then at night, my baby fell so ill; it was quite disturbing that we had to rush him to the hospital early this morning .

We met with the doctor, and he was diagnosed; immediately they began treatment. Now for every 12 hours, my baby is taking IV injections for the next three days. Good enough; he feels much better this evening. I came home to relax a bit, waiting for the next 12 hours before going back to the hospital. Now, looking at my kitchen, I see all the things I bought for the Easter Sunday glaring at me. All undone, the party I couldn't go to, but most importantly, my son is better now.It's all good; that's part of motherhood duties, and sometimes it comes unannounced, and I have to face it with joy. Mothers' sacrifice is real; sometimes you will have to keep aside pleasure and do the needful.

What a parenting journey it is. Anyways, there are still many more Easter to come and many more parties to attend. As for my neighbors hosting the party, I placed a call across to her to explain my unavoidable absence, and I'm glad she could relate with me. She has made so many sacrifices for my family, and that's why I wanted to be there for her, but hopefully next time I will.
