What a day! It's almost over for today with the celebrations in my home, to be continued tomorrow until New Year, when we will say a bittersweet goodbye to the holiday season 😍 for this year.
The preparation for this day has been a lot; it's a day both children and adults look up to to enjoy in full and merry together. I couldn't travel to my hometown this year, but obviously my spirit has been with my people over there.
There have been phone calls, video calls, and lots of gist and updates from my family in my hometown. The laughter and everything gladens my heart. I saw most of my family members on video call feeling happy and staying together. If wishes were horses, I would have wished to grow wings and travel home today and then return back, lol. It's all good, but the good thing is that I feel so happy hearing from them and celebrating with my immediate family over here in Lagos.
In my home here in Lagos, we woke up very early today and attended Christmas service. It was awesome at the church; the dance, excitement, and songs of worship were wonderful. It was a two-hour service, and we returned back home to begin the Christmas cooking. There was a lot I prepared, but I started last night to avoid pressure, as I had people who said they would visit us, and they came with their families this afternoon until evening.
It was nice entertaining them, and I was glad they enjoyed themselves and was happy with the warm welcome my husband and I gave them. They enjoyed the food, the drinks, the salad, and the small chops until they got satisfied and couldn't exhaust all we presented to them. It was fun hosting them. I am still expecting a friend this night, but currently, I am tired and just feel like sleeping to continue whatever celebration tomorrow.
How has your day been? Hope you are having a lovely day?
And before I forget...
