Hi to all!
I participate in Ladies of Hive Community Contest #114 and choose a topic: What was your greatest sorrow of 2022?
And here I have something to say.
The biggest sorrow for me and for millions of my compatriots was the full-scale war in Ukraine.
War is pain and suffering. It has actually been going on since 2014. But on February 24, 2022, Russia decided to make a large-scale attack on Ukraine, launching missiles, invading the territory of Ukraine with its troops. Millions of Ukrainians were forced to leave their homes and go abroad to save their lives and the lives of their children (mostly women with children like me).
Thousands of Ukrainians do not have their home because Russia bombed it. Thousands of children lost their parents. Russia took the lives of hundreds of children. I'm not talking about injured people who will forever remain disabled.
I don't know how else to describe the tragedy of war. It continues. Even tonight, Russian kamikaze drones again flew to attack Kyiv.
Ukrainian troops are fighting every day in the eastern direction, where fierce battles are taking place. Russia does not want to surrender, but it loses hundreds, thousands of its soldiers every day.
For me, as a mother of children, the war brought its own challenges: I left our home without my husband (he stayed in Ukraine). We haven't seen our relatives for almost 10 months.
I will keep my children abroad as long as possible to keep them safe. There is no safe place in Ukraine because of missile attacks. That's why it's peaceful for me to stay in France so that my children have a normal psychological state and are alive.
I read news from Ukraine every day. And every day it's tense, sad, sometimes joyful news (when our military is recapturing Ukrainian territories). It is impossible to live normally, to plan for the future, to develop, because the war crossed out all plans of Ukrainians. It is a completely different life, and the sad thing is that it is not known if the past life will ever return at all.
I wish you all to never know what war is. I want there to be peace, Ukraine won and no one knew the suffering due to wars all over the world.
Thank you for your attention, I wish everyone a happy New Year!
