Happy Sunday to all ladies/women and to the Hivers! It's another wonderful week starting with an interesting contest in the community. This is sure another easy questions posed at us and would like to participate too because I want to read from her 🙈
Here is the link to read through for instructions.
So, this is one of the questions out of the two presented;
Would it be something to eat, a place to visit, a person to meet, or something else?
It's not that there is something "a must" to do in my hometown but to me, it would be a must for me to take you there. At least to see for yourself the beauty of my land. I am a Yoruba lady from Kwara state, the North Central part of Nigeria and I am so proud to hail from there.
The first time I knew we had a waterfall in my hometown, was when the Church decided to take us on an excursion in 2016. I was wowed when I saw this giant waterfall which is called "OWU FALL". My town's name is "Owu Isin" and it's such a beautiful thing to have such.
It was even said that there were some whites who already visited the waterfall to buy it, but they refused to sell it out to foreigners since there are people who do travel to view such Nature and there are many things about this river.
When the ladies of Hive visit my hometown, I won't hesitate to bring them here but firstly, I would have to take some steps and some rites would be performed before going there. Those steps aren't hard but easier before getting there.
We need to inform the King whose palace is very close to our house. The king does come around twice or thrice in a week and we have been so close. So, it wouldn't be a difficult task because we are already family.
Then the king would pass a message across to the priest who in turn would go to the waterfall and give a signal to the big huge snake that is always living inside a big rock placed in the middle of the river.
The reason is that if one goes there without informing the king and not announcing to the huge snake, those people will die. Though the snake has been long dead, that doesn't mean the rites won't still be performed.
The waterfall listens to its name and once you call it name "Owu wall", it will gush out continuously until you stop calling it name.

This waterfall is a wonder to all inhabitants and strangers who come to have a look. It will surely be a pride when the LOH come around to view such Nature. I know they would enjoy themselves in the water.
These are other pictures taken when my brother took our cousins out after taking the necessary steps.
(This is my blood brother who took them there for the first time)
Can you now see why it would be a must to take them there? They need to see the beauty of my hometown through this amazing waterfall that has its own magical way of hearing its name and then, the water starts rushing out until you stop calling the name.

Thanks for reading.
