With growth having many phases—so are beliefs.
Phase I: From a persona of a child
The thoughts of demons had never been good to her mind: she always thought of them as worse than monsters who eat their own flesh and hairs that live inside her closet waiting for her to open it so that they could eat her alive.
Gore and brutal—She saw them in their red body covered with blood, with eyes so dark and horns so large. She never heard their laughs yet ironically, she hears them in her mind somehow and how horrific it was. They could eventually make her skin crawl as if they had just spreaded spiders all over her body.
It was then she told herself that having an imaginative mind is never good sometimes because it leads her always to overthink things especially when watching horror films.
Nevertheless, because everyone needs a way to contrast fear, they find ways to deal with it like finding a shelter when it is about to rain and finding comfort when it is getting colder.
Angels make way to her young mind, born from faith and hope. The light against the dark—the good against the bad. When she managed to call them, that one day she wished when she can overcome her fear became the day one of overcoming the fear to sleep alone on her tiny room.
She reminded herself that God allows His angels to be with her. And so, she put her faith to her guardian angel with the face of she can't describe but had an appeal of her sister who comfort her always and her borther who protects.
And, even now she prays to her angel still.
Phase II: The Venturer Thoughts of a Teen
She was close to 14 that time. Time had passed like a blink of an eye. As her body and her whole life shifted into something new yet, still the same—her mind shifted then.
Angels became her haven that makes her thoughts free from worries and fear.
They have now a more specific face on her mind. Calm and beautiful, quiet and observing. Knows all her secret and attitude—and to that she always think what does her angel thinks of her?
She bet her angel is running out of patience and perseverance. Maybe her angel is getting annoyed already of how bad she was.
The safety given with faith allows her to be freer but it allows her as well to wander and wonder beyond:
Because to know from books that demons were angels who opposed God and fell from heaven made her curious and ask questions that are oftentimes need not to be asked.
She thought of demons are evil still, but she wasn't scared this time like on her childhood. She doesn't fear their of what they might appear to be but their sins.
She became precise to her every move. Because she doesn't want to be a disappointment. Because she doesn't want to fail. Because she doesn't want to fall.
Demons are sinners but her mind (still young) thought of something that makes her think until now: She was a sinner too. Are there any difference?
Phase III: The Present, The Current Growth of the Now Lady
That time she messed up.
Wild days and rebellion, she came to thought of demons like in the novels with thick lashes, sharp jaws, captivating eyes, noses sculpted pleasingly, and other romanticizing personification of a myth.
Demons now became a part of her imaginative world lying in fiction. She wasn't afraid anymore to them.
She seeks always for redemption. Especially when she know that both were never really good: It was never good to question beyond faith as it was never good as to be just there, stuck, somehow blinded and somehow didn't choose to listen.
And she always love to learn every bones and roots and the bloodflow of a system. So she feed herself spiritually.
It takes her 17 years to know the existence of different kinds of Angels: angels, archangels, principalities, powers, virtues, dominions or dominations, thrones, cherubim (plural of cherub), and seraphim.
Thus, as they are still her comfort becomes awkward to her to think that they have many eyes. Literally have a lot of eyes.
She was a sinner too, but then she always believe and hold on to worthwhile things she knew.
Angels do exist, literally, figuratively, spiritually because of her faith.
And, Demons do as well because herself stubbornly still believes.
An aspirant writer and artist. To be found is my greatest dream and never be lost. Hi, I am , you can call me Rene or Esme if you like. I specialized in prose-poetry and poetry, and now I am trying new things and writing styles. I love learning! I am a 17-year-old girl living life in the Philippines. I am a total bookworm and a grade 11 student with an undying passion for writing and art. Having many dreams is a funny mess because I get confused most of time with regard to what course should I take in college. I want to be an astrologist, a doctor, a journalist, an author, a professional artist, an archaeologist, and many more I forgot to remember while writing this.
