Hello Beautiful Hivers! A new week so a new challenge from . Off course, I'm in. The topic are interesting so I want to take part on it. We have two topic for this week challenge. Out of the two choices I chose number 2 to answer.
Romance scams are on the rise, and anyone can be a target. Scammers create fake profiles on dating sites and apps, or contact their targets through popular social media sites like Instagram and Facebook. They strike up a relationship with their victims and build trust, sometimes over months or even years. They eventually ask for money, often pretending to need it for medical bills, travel costs, or unexpected emergencies. What will you do to avoid being a victim of dating scams online?
Seriously, I am not a fan of a dating apps or whatever site that we can find a special someone or even just someone to flirt or what. I tried Omegle before but I just do it for fun. Like I am really not even serious on using it. It's just a pass time for me. I can count on my fingers on how many times I used that. As for any other social medias, I found a lot of chat mates on those sites just to flirt but we never really move into the next level of relationship aside from just a chat mate that I can flirt. It's just purely a flirtation and nothing more.
I already experience that kind of scam on some of people that I met on social media and there are some cases too that they pretend like someone else and will flirt with you to get a nude pictures and all. I encounter this one before. And the nerve, he even use a profile of a well known guy as he is an artist. But even though the profile he used was from an artist, I still believed that it is him because I am also not familiar to that artist that he used as a profile. I even enjoyed chatting with him and I almost send some of what he's asking, lol.
As I've said on my last article I am not a good kid coz I also do some things that a teenager shouldn't do. Good thing what I did before didn't backfire on me coz Mom will surely kill me if ever it gets out. Anyways, back to that poser. At first we are just chatting and being sweet with each other. Maybe it is because he's giving me too much attention that I really liked him. Though at first he is not asking of anything until he just suddenly asked for a nude picture. Maybe he is horny that time. I am actually tempted to send one to be honest, lol.
But I drop the idea because that time, that is also where those news about those girls being blackmailed because of the nude photos they sent to their boyfriends that they met online was circulating. They are crying and begging not to release it. But for them not to release that videos or photos, it's either they will asked for more nude videos, force them to have sex or ask them money for their silence. Those scumbags are really the worst. And this stops me from doing it too. I don't want to experience the same thing because I trusted someone easily.
Who knows what might happen next if I allowed this to continue. I might also experience that and asked more nudes picture, sex as an exchange for their silence and or money for them to completely stop. But what if it didn't just stop there right? And even if we really know the personality of those people we met online, we can't still say that they won't do anything bad. Some people change when they saw a chance to take advantage on us, or to you. Even those kindest person we know can turn to anything they want and be a bad guy too.
As for me, to avoid these kind of schemes and scams I avoid sending nudes or even a videos and a recording of myself that can be used as a tool later to do bad deeds toward me. I can talk and chat with them but no more than that. It's better to be safe than sorry later. Yeah, sometimes there are strangers out there who's really kind and will not do you any harm, but there are strangers too that is the opposite of that. Who has motives and even has the plan to break our peace or even destroy us.
Dating Scams online is constantly recurring all over the world. It become a common thing to some. To be saved from being a victim, trusting a stranger that we just met online shouldn't be just an easy thing for us. Do not trust just anyone or better yet, constantly looking for someone online should also be limited. Because in this kind of world that we are in where poverty is widespread all over the world, any means of getting money just to put food on their table is a must too, to them.
And, Money is everything now, to some. I mean even to me. While I chose to work hard to get those money, there are really just some people who will do bad things for the sake of it.
