I was thinking about an accident or a complicated moment, and how I didn't feel capable of surviving such a difficult time. Suddenly, I realized that as women, we're prepared for almost any event, even if we're the kind who jump at the sight of a cockroach.
Survive like old trees that lose all their leaves but remain standing, fighting. We become resilient to the ravages of time.
I've sometimes watched those survival test programs, and honestly, I wouldn't want to have to eat snakes even if they taste like chicken. I think my life limit is one month in a difficult and complicated situation.
Although Venezuelan women are resilient in survival situations, there are at least a few cases that are part of history:
Venezuelan doctor Raiza Ruiz survived a 1981 plane crash in the Amazon rainforest, becoming a symbol of resilience after walking alone for seven nights, facing hunger and fever, before being rescued and returning to civilization.
There's a form of survival that isn't talked about much: surviving loneliness. The kind where there's no accident that causes it, just a situation where your family leaves to find a better life and you're left alone, leaving you to survive alone. And even if we have the resources, being alone and surviving is a way in which you have to save yourself.
Surviving above all else becomes your daily routine, hoping to see your loved ones reunited again. It's a silent and very difficult test of survival.

When I was little, people always teased me that I looked like a Venezuelan artist, Mary Soliani. I think my friends teased me about my name, Mary, which was what they called me at home.

Estaba pensando en un accidente o en un momento complicado y que no me sentía capaz de sobrevivir a un momento tan difícil y de repente me di cuenta que al ser mujer estamos preparadas casi para cualquier evento, aunque seamos de las que saltamos ante la presencia de una cucaracha.
Sobrevivir como los viejos árboles que pierden todas sus hojas pero se mantienen allí en pie de lucha. Nos volvemos resistente al embate del señor tiempo.
A veces he visto programas de esos de pruebas de supervivientes y sinceramente no me gustaría tener que comer culebra aunque sepa a pollo. Creo que mi limite de duración es un mes ante una situación difícil y complicada.
Aunque las mujeres venezolanas somos una aguantadoras en situaciones de sobrevivencia. Por lo menos hay unos cuantos casos por allí que estan en la historia:

Y aunque tengamos los recursos, el estar sola y sobrevivir es una forma en la que tienes que salvarte a ti misma.
Sobrevivir ante todo, se vuelve tu día a día con la esperanza de ver a tus seres queridos otra vez reunidos. Es una prueba silenciosa y muy dura de sobrevivir.

De pequeña siempre me echaban broma que me parecía a una artista venezolana Mary Soliani, creo que mis amigos me echaban broma por el nombre Mary que era como me llamaban en casa.
