Today, 10 Dzulhijjah, Eid al-Adha, Islamic ceremonial is also known as the Festival of Sacrifice.
Eid al-Adha is about the Sacrifice of Prophet Ismail by his father Prophet Ibrahim who has a dream that Allah command him to sacrifice his son Prophet Ismail to see if he really believes in Allah and will do what Allah says. First, it was very hard for Prophet Ibrahim to accept the command. He made up his mind to do what Allah wanted him to do. When the process about to begin, Allah replaced Prophet Ismail with a ram. This showed that prophet Ibrahim was truly faithful and devoted.
2 days ago, I accompany my mother looking for a goat to sacrifice, there are lots of goats and cows but there is one goat that comes to us and suddenly wants to hold our hand, seems like wants to be chosen as a sacrifice animal. We still considered and the goat turned around but weird that the goat came back and did the same, stood up by the fence and like asked to be chosen.
Finally we decided to chose the Goat as our sasacrifice. It seemed like the goat was very happy, the goat stood up to the fence and put his hand on my mother’s hand like to say thank you and we make doa/Pray for the goat that he will be sacrifice on behalf of my mother’s name and the goat will be glorified by Allah. I saw tears in the goat's eye, believe it or not it happened.
Today Muslims all over the world celebrate Eid al-Adha offering prayers at Mosque, sacrifice animals like goats, sheep or cows and giving the meat to their families, neighbours and people who need it.
