If I could get a second chance at life, I would choose to be born into a more comfortable family, one that I will not have to depend on farm work to survive, one that I will not have to struggle finiancially. I imagine a home where my parents had the means to provide the basic things I needed like stability, guidance, and the freedom to dream beyond the limits of my environment.
In this second chance, my parents would have been able to support me through every stage of my education, from my earliest school days until the highest level of learning I wished to reach.
With that foundation, my paths would have been different, I wouldn't have feel pressured to marry in my early twenties simply because I could no longer continue with the hardship. Instead, I would have had the time to grow myself, to discover myself, to build myself and build a future for myself and my loved ones a future that is based on choice not on necessity. I would have pursued a better life that is shaped by opportunities, not on limitation.
In this version of my life, I would have work in a white collar profession, using my skills and knowledge to create stability for myself and for my family. I imagine waking up each day knowning that my hard work not hardship, defines my journey.
A second chance would have not erase who I am today, but it would have given me the kind of start that allows a person to rise without carrying so much weight. And with that start, I believe I could have become an even stronger, more accomplished version of myself.
