Travelling is an aspect of tourism and hospitality that I enjoy so much. Infact traveling is one of my hobbies probably I developed that interest from my mum. My mum also loves travelling alot and enjoys it as much as I do. A journey you make is like a once in a lifetime experience that can never be regained; even if you travel to thesame place a number of times, the experience for each is totally different.
When I was little and young, I love travelling with my family. I feel secure and that sense of belonging in the midst of strangers you are travelling with;We don't have the luxury of traveling in our private car. It's always a public transport. The first time I traveled alone was when I finished my secondary school and I was seeking admission to higher institution ; I traveled to another state which is about four hours drive from my place of residence. I remembered how I felt that day . It was a mixed feeling of fear and pleasure. There was fear of the unknown and warmth of my family and happy that I would have the freedom to decide what ever I want through the travelling. I overcame the fear after travelling a number of times alone as a single
THE CHALLENGES
One of the challenges I face as a single lady traveling is getting alot of advances from the opposite sex. They think you are an easy prey for them since you are a woman.
Then you get exposed to alot of danger on the road ranging from kidnapping,rape or death especially now in Nigeria that the security system has collapsed and people are no longer safe on the road anymore. I wish the security system will be strong again soon and give travellers peace of mind.
