Sometimes you'll just wake up and realize it's going to be a tough week. So instead of getting up immediately, you'll feel your body sinking deeply in your bed.
Do you ever feel that way too?
What's worse is when you'll have your menstruation for such a tough week. Worse is when you're one of the few women who normally gets menstruation cramps.
My week really started with me waking up and not feeling good. I cooked breakfast and felt pain in my lower abdomen. It took me a while to check if what I had in mind was right. I checked my underwear, and I realized I am on my period!
Then realization hit me like a fool: nothing is constant in life, like how 1st semester felt like nothing to me, and then 2nd semester started a bit strong already. There is a lot to do, and we are about to report in almost every course we are taking. Suddenly we are going home late and then going back to the university once again.
As a college student, you really have to study every night and every single time because there's always quizzes, exams, and laboratory activities left and right. You can only take a rest during a lunch break or not; it depends if you also use your lunch break to study for the next course. Unlike junior and senior high school, in college assignments felt like a project.
Here's some documentation I took during the making of our assignment as a group.
We are creating a video about advocating for wikang Filipino in colleges or universities and in the country of the Philippines. The context of our video about advocating for wikang Filipino was like news broadcasting, wherein we interviewed college students and teachers about what their thoughts were about having the wikang Filipino removed from the university, with a twist about going to the future to see what happens if it is not removed.
It was so much fun, though I am having dysmenorrhea; I still really enjoyed this assignment because my group mates were very cooperative and had a lot of ideas, so it was done quickly. I supervised the whole creation of our video and immediately edited the video.
It took us two days to create our group assignment because we only have a little time in the afternoon since our group assignment was given on Wednesday, so we started on the afternoon of Thursday and finished on the afternoon of Friday.
We were also given another assignment on Wednesday that is to be discussed on Friday morning. It was about creating a poster about an environmental issue visible in our community; therefore, on Thursday night, I started to make the poster I had in mind. It was kind of tough for me because I wanted to make something creative, so I researched a lot for inspiration. Thankfully, it did not take me hours to think. I then carefully created my poster.
Then on Friday, it was time to discuss what our poster was about. I briefly discussed what my poster was about: in my poster I talked about how the people in my community are one of the reasons why we experience flooding whenever there's heavy rain; it is because, from what I can see, they are not very responsible with their waste, which causes flooding and serious problems with their health because they have no choice but to walk in the dirty water.
Then on Friday afternoon, since there's no class on Saturday, of course I and my friends had to find a way to enjoy and forget about how stressful this week was.
We went to McDonald's and ate there together while talking about how our week went; we had so much fun that I think the whole McDonald's was full of our laughter. In a while we had to really go out to continue our loudness and laughter because we can't get enough of each other. They were so fun to be with, and that's why we always get through hell week because we have each other in the end.
May you have someone you can have fun with at the end of a tough day or week, and may you also give time for yourself to enjoy between stressful days. Fighting!
