Creative mood
I wish I was creative more often but as it's a rare thing, whenever I have the inspiration, I immediately use it to create something. I'm always afraid that when I don't, the creative flow is gone. I've learned that this is a great approach to be creative more often and I'm slowly seeing an uptrend in me creating things rather then leaving things as ideas in my head.
VW Camper van
I don't know about you but I always love these cute VW Camper Vans whenever I see one. There's one right in our garage, although it's been out more often now that summer is here, probably to go surfing as I always envision a bunch of surfers in these vans when they're on the road. It was because the van drove out of the garage one day recently that I got inspiration to draw a van after grocery shopping. I came home and started sketching it to show my daughter.
My sketch
I proposed that I'd make the sketch with the lines only and that she'd finish it with whatever colours or material she liked. My daughters eyes light up when I propose something like it, it rarely happens that she's not in the mood. I'm happy that this is that case, especially now that my back is slowly getting less painful partially. I'm extremely grateful for that and even such a simple thing as making a drawing makes me super happy because a few weeks ago, my mood was down the drain completely due to the pain.
I started sketching and had to use an image online to remind me about some details (hey, I'm getting older so my memory isn't that great, lol) but in the end I decided this was going to be my part and now it's time to pass it on to my daughter.
The colouring by my daughter
I had no clue which tools she'd use, she ended up using my markers, crayons (because that one had the perfect colour) and pencils..
Almost done, look at that cute smiling face!
The End Result
Here's the final result of our collaboration:
Now that's a fun van isn't it? I hope you enjoyed our joint artwork as much as we did creating it.. More coming soon as the summer holidays is ongoing until early September.
