Hola #LadiesofHive Community. Feliz inicio de semana para todas, espero que se encuentren muy bien, como siempre las preguntas de cada semana son muy interesantes y una siempre encuentra algo especial que contar, así que estas son mis respuestas para esta semana:
1.- Tell us about a treasured item that you own that has a special meaning for you.
My grandmother, who passed away 13 years ago, gave me a beautiful crystal glass when I was 28 years old. It is a color matched glass, the glass is royal blue but the base is clear crystal. I don't really think it has a very high economic value; but its sentimental value is what makes it so special to me. That glass is the last of a set of glasses that my grandfather gave my grandmother for her 60th birthday, more than 46 years ago.
I remember my grandmother remarking to me as she handed me the glass, "when you have a daughter, give it to her." I think my grandmother wanted to leave something of her in life, as a perennial memory of her and that is where I have the dilemma. I had no children!!!, so I have been thinking of passing the cup to one of my siblings or better yet to one of my nieces, maybe nephews, I am still evaluating and at the moment I have no intention of parting with the cup. For me it is a small treasure that unites me to my grandmother in an indelible way.
1.- Háblanos de un objeto preciado que poseas y que tenga un significado especial para ti.
Mi abuela, quien falleció hace 13 años, me regaló cuando yo tenía 28 años una hermosa copa de cristal. Es una copa con colores combinados, la copa es azul rey pero su base es de cristal transparente. La verdad no creo que tenga un valor económico muy elevado; pero su valor sentimental es lo que la hace tan especial para mí. Esa copa es la última de un set de copas que mi abuelo le regaló a mi abuela en su cumpleaños número 60, hace más de 46 años.
Recuerdo que mi abuela me comentó al entregarme la copa, “cuando tengas una hija, entrégasela a ella”. Creo que mi abuela quería dejar algo de ella en vida, como un recuerdo perenne de ella y es ahí donde tengo el dilema. No tuve hijos!!!, así que he estado pensando en pasarle la copa a uno de mis hermanos o mejor aún a unas de mis sobrinas, quizá sobrinos, todavía estoy evaluando y por los momentos no tengo la más mínima intención de desprenderme de la copa. Para mí es un pequeño tesoro que me une a mi abuela de una manera indeleble.
2.- What is your favorite outdoor activity?
Walking! I love walking, I can walk for miles without getting tired. But what I like most in the world, when I have the opportunity to do it, is to walk around the Avila, a magical mountain at the foot of Caracas. To see its greenery, to breathe its pure air, to know that I am just a few minutes away from civilization. Avila walks are always powerful, they recharge my energy both physically and spiritually. It is a connection with a magical mountain full of energy and mysticism. Just being able to see a little piece of the mountain from my window fills me with energy. She has something magical that I can't explain, just feel... as I wish your reader friend could feel what I feel when I connect with the mountain, but I know that we all have a connection to earth, that connection that makes us land and fill our spirit with love and energy. As you already know walking is my favorite activity, but walking on Avila is another level.
2.- ¿Cuál es tu actividad favorita al aire libre?
Caminar!!! Adoro caminar, puedo caminar kilómetros sin cansarme. Pero lo que más me gusta en el mundo, cuando tengo la oportunidad de hacerlo, es caminar por el Ávila, una mágica montaña al pie de Caracas. Ver su verdor, respirar su aire puro, saberme lejos de la civilización a pocos minutos. Las caminatas por el Ávila siempre son poderosas, recargan mi energía tanto física como espiritualmente. Es una conexión con una montaña mágica llena de energía y misticismo. El solo hecho de poder ver un pedacito de la montaña desde mi ventana, me llena de energía. Ella tiene algo mágico que no puedo explicar, solo sentir… como me gustaría que tu amigo lector pudieras sentir lo que yo siento cuando me conecto con la montaña, pero sé que todos tenemos una conexión a tierra, esa conexión que nos hace aterrizar y llenar nuestro espíritu de amor y energía. Como ya lo sabes caminar es mi actividad favorita, pero caminar en el Ávila es otro nivel.
