Hello, ladies...
You must be very familiar with the saying that we shouldn't judge a book by its cover, right? This is something we often do unintentionally, whether to a person or an object. The human brain is prone to prejudice.
This brings me back to an old memory. Specifically, it was in 2017 when I went on a hike to the highest mountain in East Java, Mount Semeru. Since I was still a beginner at the time, all my hiking companions were members of an open trip. Some of them already knew each other, while others were complete strangers like me. There were fourteen of us, and only four of us were women. We were all strangers to each other.
However, there was one female member who I found very annoying. I'm not sure why I felt that way, maybe because she had a sullen face and was difficult to talk to during the climb. While the other friends became close on the second day, she seemed to dislike the female climbers and chose to hang out with the male climbers. Even after the climb was over and we continued our climb to Bromo, everything remained the same. She kept her distance and seemed unwilling to be friends. Well, if that's the case, I'm not going to force her to be the way I want her to be.
However, something funny happened. On our last day at the homestay, where I shared a room with this woman, we had no choice but to ask each other questions, even though it was awkward. Unexpectedly, from that moment on, she asked me for a favor, and I agreed, and we ended up becoming friends. What kind of friends? Close friends. Until now. We continued our mountain climbing trips together year after year when the time was right. And now, even though she is married, she still makes plans to meet me when I return to my hometown.
I may have mentioned her many times in my stories. Her name is Zaza. You know what's funny? It turns out she also thought I was fierce and difficult to approach, so at that time we misunderstood each other. LOL.
This is an interesting experience for me. One person and the other side of them.
He is kind, generous, caring, and we chat almost every day in the chat room. That’s the dynamic of our friendship journey. We’ve been friends for nine years now. I hope we always stay this way. Thank you for reading my story. See you in the next stories.
