It's international Women's Day today. A day, where in the past, I was involved in different celebrations. Helping to organise workshops and performances that honour what it means to be a women. Something that back then, seemed like an easy thing to organise, as most people agreed on what it means to be a woman. Now it's more of a loaded question. Where there are some who take offense, to what was once the common definition.
I personally, feel protective about womanhood. About women around the world who continue to be abused and oppressed. ( Also acknowledging that it happens to men also). It's so important to me, that women come together and support on another. That we focus on building one another up, instead of knocking one another down. Bitching and gossiping, being so judgemental. We've all been there, at one point, I just hope most of us have moved on from that. It really doesn't help, that we live in a world that constantly tries to pit us against one another.
A society where there are certain expectations, about the way we should act, the way we should look.
All if which, disconnects us from what really matters. How we should be honouring, our different rites of passage. Leaning into each other, as sisters, friends, mothers, creators. Honouring our bodies, by listening to them, understanding them, nurturing them, in their natural form. Seeing the beauty and the power we all hold within.
Instead, so many step away from the divine and towards the ego. Towards the whispers of power and success. Towards warped ideas of beauty. Why did motherhood become so devalued? Raising the future generation, is one of the most important things we as women can do. Creating space for our children, being an example for them.
Weave To Empower
Weavers of Life,
Weavers Of Knowledge,
Creating our stories,
Igniting our Bodies.
Weave to awaken,
the wisdom inside,
Allowing our intuitive
self to now guide.
Weaving to feel,
weaving to explore
we are women who weave,
to reveal more and more.
weaving out of love,
weaving with respect,
weaving healing
for all the hurt we have met,
weaving power
and strength,
weaving light
from within,
weaving new creations
weaving to begin,
weaving from the earth,
connecting from below,
weaving our intentions,
so that all,
will be in flow.
Happy Women's Day, to all my Hive Sisters
