Ever since I realised that the way my morning begins affects the outcome of my activities, my mood, and level of productivity throughout the day, I have developed some healthy habits to start my day right and maintain a happy mood.
Life is too short, and living it well will be meaningful.
Waking up with a clear and sound mind depends on how I ended the previous day. Therefore, before I wrap up the day, I reflect and clear my mind of anything that might be a disturbance. I then listen to some calm and slow music to relax my mind and sleep soundly.
Before I finally sleep, I take some time to plan what my next day will be, the tasks and activities. I set my alarm and reminders too, and jot some in my Notes.
Opening my eyes to a bright and beautiful day is what I always look forward to. When that happens, I do some stretches to stretch out my body.
To envelope my day spiritually, I say my prayers, listen to some praise songs and express my gratitude for a new day, believing it will be great.
One thing that has been part of me for years is drinking slightly hot water as the first thing to take into my mouth. I have had conversations with some Hivers on Threads (InLeo), and they say they love to begin with coffee, and some with a herbal tea.
We all have the choices that work for us, and mine is slightly hot water. It makes me feel light, warms up my body, and also helps me to empty my bowels.
It doesn't mean I don't take herbal teas like green tea with lemon and ginger, but not as the first thing.
I love to eat something in the morning, at least before noon. So, if I don't want to have a proper meal, I take available fruits. Most times I have apples, watermelon or bananas.
I could eat an Apple and get right into my work for the day. When I have watermelon, I either eat it or make it into a smoothie (which I often do) and love to combine it with beetroot.
On the day, I would love to have a proper meal for breakfast, I lean towards having sandwiches, oats or pancakes.
Speaking of pancakes, I love to create new pancake recipes and here is a picture of Milky Sweet Potato Pancakes.
Watching the sky from my windows or going outside for a full view is always a beautiful experience.
I do the little chores I can and get prepared for the day.
Listening to music has been part of me, and while working, I listen to music.
Practising affirmations, journaling and reading an article set me into a great positive mindset for a great experience throughout the day.
Sharing these healthy habits has even made me cherish them more. I would love to know yours, too.
Cheers. 🥂
